"Holy fuck— Kirigiri?" Leon came back to the infirmary only to see the woman shackled up and tied against the bed, injured and moving aggressively at any attempt Togami made at helping her."It's no use, she won't let me even touch her injuries." Togami put down the bandages and sat down, petting the woman's head as she flung herself around trying to escape.
"How did she even get like that?" Leon couldn't believe it, they were almost as bad as his bruises, only she didn't get balls to the face.
The prodigy sighed. "No idea. She was dropped off by the door, my best guess was Owada but he was cowarding in here the whole time she was gone, so it had to be someone else, is it rude to assume it was you?" He raised a brow curiously.
"Of course, you're assuming it's me, really?! I've already learned my lesson the first-" Leon was about to continue screaming, but he saw Togami's apologetic expression and stopped midway. "It— it wasn't me. I was with Makoto the whole time keeping a track of Fukaw— I mean, Syo, she wanted to come up here to try and get you." That seemed to hit a nerve in Togami, even with the softer exterior it seemed that the mention of Genocider sent him into a fight or flight response.
"Ah. I see, thank you.. I'm aware I'm a bit different but in this way, I can properly thank you for everything. Even if I regret what I'm saying later." The prodigy brushed some hair out of his face and tapped the seat next to him for Leon to sit.
"You'll be pissed off for sure, it's strange though, you're the one a bit self aware.." The batter laughed and took a seat next to him, only for him to act confused when he said that, going back to his sick way and forgetting everything about his previous personality. Leon clicked his tongue and felt a twist in his stomach as he relaxed to ask something.
"How exactly do you feel about me— treating you?"
Togami was silent for a few seconds.
"Well, I did a terrible thing, you understood what happened. It's no excuse for what happened though. Why I did that? A panic is no excuse for lying about it and even worse, making fun of it. I'm just glad you—" Togami cut off for a second. "I'm just glad that you're such a.. such a nice person to be around, you don't disturb me, it's pleasant. It's lovely." Leon's heart stung for a second, he knew some of it was probably the disease taking control of him, but that face.. that expression.
Togami always made that expression when he was being genuine, serious eyes and his eyebrow would always twitch as if he was embarrassed. "That's nice, did you really mean— what you said that night?""What night?"
Leon's heart shut down again, he would have to wait for the disease to go away to find the honest truth, and even then it was a rare chance that Togami would even answer it honestly.
"Could you two stop having a nice conversation while I'm back here screaming my fucking head off?!" Kirigiri screamed at the top of her lungs, angry at the fact they were completely ignoring her.
"Ohhh right you're here, what the hell happened to you?" He finally saw that she managed to calm down, stopping her squirming and looking at them dead in the eye.
"That asshole! It was Kiyotaka— or whatever that thing was' he's crazy I tell you, just crazy! He started beating the shit out of me and halfway through he stopped and started saying shit like 'You need to run, he wants to kill you' or somethin' along those lines, and tell limp-dick to stop hiding in the nurses room! I can see him!" She looked over to the room where the medical items were kept, Mondo hiding and staring at her, hiding better when he was spotted.
"Wait wait wait— what did you say?"
"Never heard of the term limp-dick before? You suit it well too."
"Before that! About Kiyotaka!" Leon rephrased, the woman thinking again.
"I don't even know, he looked.. different, he spoke different, like a total— alter ego... alter ego! The laptop Leon!" The woman had a moment of realization and snapped out of her illness for a second, suddenly touching her head after and acting confused. "Like a totally different person, it's like he was possessed or something— fucking migraine.."
"Laptop...— shit, now you can't tell us where you left it, maybe in the—" Leon kept quiet as he saw a camera facing him, stammering and coming up with an excuse. "You mean the monopad— that should have some info on Taka and maybe a guess on whoever's controlling him..." He gestured for Togami to take his e-handbook out, the man obeying accordingly and tilting the screen looking for any information on him.
"No use, his profile hasn't been updated since he was executed.." Togami sighed and defeatedly put his handbook away.
"Whatever! I'm still gonna kill him and then we'll get outta here, mark my words." Kirigiri growled and tried to escape again. Only for Leon to laugh sarcastically. "Oh really? Like that went well last time, look at you. You're not doing that again until we figure out a proper way to get out."
The two kept arguing but Togami kept thinking, taking out his handbook again and turning his monopad upside down on his profile, seeing something in the corner and tapping the one pixel, only for the name to change.
"Ishida Kiyondo."
"That's him—" Kirigiri's eyes widened, looking towards his monopad along with Leon.
"Why would this feature be on the monopad in the first place...?" Togami was beyond confused as he saw his monopad suddenly glitch and turn back into Kiyotaka, an error message turning up and kicking him off of his profile entirely.
"Someone had to do that on purpose, but who—?"
"Ishida had to have done it, I think he—"
"I think he wants us to know."
