The very first song in this production- and overall theme for the musical is "Welcome to The Company!". This is overall one of my favorite pieces in the musical, mostly because of it's jazzy but dark undertone. This jazzy yet dark song that almost sounds similar to "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas, is sung by none other than our head honcho of the center- Cerberus, after the prologue/flashback of him promoting Menacing Molly to be his co-worker. This song will continue to prosper throughout the series, even showing as the Janglin Bones Trio plays it as we enter the beginning of the sequel, "SHTM; The Return". It is a piece that will go down in history, into the hearts of many, and I'm sure this series will be recognized by this one song. If you told a friend about Spirit Halloween; The Musical, chances are they will go "What the hell is that?", until you sing "Welcome to The Company!". It's sort of like a Star Wars Imperial March kind of deal. Okay, enough babbling, and let's get into the deep lore as well as the lyrics to this theme.
Like I said before, this song is sung by Cerberus after the prologue, which means based on the spooky and dark, yet jazzy tone that we are being introduced to the facility- as well as Spirit Halloween itself. Horror merchandise can be mentioned in this song, as well as horror movie merch, costumes, decorations, and of course- the animatronics and themes. This song is like pretty much Cerberus giving you a drug deal, but instead of drugs, he's selling you to come to Spirit Halloween. Hopefully after this song, you will go to Spirit in 2022. If a three headed dog sang to me to go to Spirit, I would go, whether Cerberus did it or not. Many horror films are mentioned, mostly ones that Spirit has been paying attention to the most recently, these being "Halloween", "IT", "Trick 'R Treat", "Krampus"- and of course, "Killer Klowns from Outer Space". So this song is jam packed with horror movie references! Want to go to Spirit now, huh?
The musical instruments played in this piece are mainly brass instruments, including the saxophone, trumpet and violin (in the intro).
