Chapter II

                         Corinne

Two weeks ago.

I came to a stop before my family's house, well it's more of a mansion.
Dragging myself out of the car and into the front door,.

My body has not been functioning properly lately, having pain lapses here and there... I had one which took too long to simmer, it left me exhausted, that's why am late.

"In the dinning room."came a high pitched voice, as soon as I stepped foot in the house..my mum,,  it's like she has a telepathy or something...or she just could smell me. knowing that I just arrived.

I groaned deep in my throat,"it's gonna be a long night."

I have been avoiding this 'meetings ' or family dinners for a few months, but finally agreed to come against my will of course.

Not like I hate my family or something, it's just that my father wants me to take over the company, more like resume my former position.
I mean I have been involved here and there but he just wants me to fully involve myself in it.

I took a much needed breath, and entered the dining room, seeing my family already sitted, my mum placing the last dish on top of the table.

I took my seat after saying hello and hugging them.

I must admit anyway I missed them.
We were a family of five. Two girls , and one boy who was the oldest.

Mario Craine .twenty nine years old was the oldest and he was in charge of the Craine family, from extended family to intermediate family..
He was the Alpha of the family. Everyone answered to him..more like the chairman of the Craine empire . Mario was mated to his mate Lexi Craine, the Luna , they had a ten year old son Collin Craine, and another on they way.

Then mih Corinne Craine , twenty six years the second child..Am supposed to take over the companies, but am a detective instead...I take responsibility but not fully.

Lastly theirs Dalia Craine,  twenty four,she is the last baby, she is in charge of the accounting in the family, she's so good with numbers that she got recognized by the governor...
Imagine that. Dalia has two mates, Jayden and Carmen Craine, she is mated to a man and a woman, who were lovers before  both of them were mated to her.

My siblings mates were not here today, maybe back home, or they just want us to unify as before.

My family is a werewolf family, my dad was the Alpha but my brother is the head now.

He is a good leader but a very good brother.. we've had our fair share of argument but we're very supportive.
When we were younger we used to call ourselves the triad..

We settled down , and started serving ourselves.

"How have you been doing , since you have busy to come and dine with your family?" My dad .Collins Craine. asked rather curiously instead of annoyed .

I breathed deeply, I had no strength to argue tonight.

"Same old same old. " I said slowly then taking a bite of the delicious panfried steak.
He just raised an eyebrow in return.

"The food is delicious as always mum, did you use rosemary or thyme on the steak?" Mario asked, diverting the attention from me.
I smiled at him in appreciation.
