'New mission begins'

1 | 2

Aurelia

I took a seat in the empty basketball stadium, my eyes scanning the whole area. No figure was in sight so it's safe to meet.

"I'm giving you a minute to get here."
I spoke into my earpiece.

Though they employ me, I don't like waiting.

I picked up my phone to scroll through the hub, but nothing could interest me as I wasn't a fan.

"You didn't need to give me a minute."
A masculine yet old voice said some meters away from me.

I looked beside me and he was sitting three seats away from me.

I assume he should be in his late 50s as his once dark hairs are beginning to shade gray.

I don't know his name, because we weren't given the privilege to know, it's strictly business, employer and employee.

"Who's on the list now."

Instead of answering he threw an envelope towards me.

"It's all in there."

"Passport? New identity?"

He nodded.

He looked at me longer than I expected, his eyes filled with uncertainty.

"This time it's bigger than anything you've ever worked on."

I smirked at his words, years of near death experience has shown me there's nothing too big for me to pull.

"I dragged the Moscow drug Lord to his hell, taken bullets, beaten and battered, is there anything bigger than that?"

He only sighed and shook his head.

"What I mean is that this isn't like anything you've faced, no physical combat, you just need to take it slow."

This time I was really laughing, can he please stop being ridiculous.

"Don't you think it's time to take a break?"

He just sighed looking so exhausted.

"Money?"
I asked when he wasn't saying anything.

He looked at me longer than the last time, it's scaring me how his eyes just finds it's way into my eyes, it's the first and I'm uncomfortable.

"There won't be any money, payments to be done after the mission."

"What?!!!"
I practically made it to my feet looking over with the menacing will to storm over to him.

"You will be playing the poor girl."

"I don't do business like this."

"I can't help it, the order is from above and you know what that means."

"No I won't be doing it."
I shook my head, how can I enter a contract without any solid assurance of getting payment.
