Eunbi glanced at her reflection in the mirror. Was she putting too much effort into her outfit? She didn't want the other trainees to think that she was a trying too hard or that she was attention seeking, but if she dressed to casually, would they think that she was sloppy? She frowned, dissatisfied with her outfit. Whatever. This was what she normally wore so she should stick to it instead of worrying so much about what everyone else thought. It wasn't like she was trying to get a boyfriend anyway since she was a trainee, so it didn't matter.
The other trainees had already left the dorm. She was late because she had just come back from work and had just taken a shower. She was exhausted, but this is life. There was no cheat code to life, you had to work hard if you want to reap the benefits of your labour. Grabbing her phone and her bag, she left the dorm.
The restaurant they were gathering at had been sent to their trainee groupchat earlier. It wasn't far from the company building and within walking distance. It wasn't hard to spot them when she arrived. There were around ten trainees, some of whom she had already met. She wasn't surprised at the small number since Lovelyz just debuted a year ago and there weren't plans to debut another group, let alone a girl group anytime soon.
Upon seeing her, Sungyoon waved, gesturing for her to sit in the empty seat beside him.
Dinner was casual, with them either talking about drama that was happening in school or about other idol groups. However, after dinner, they started ordering soju since half of them were legal to drink. Eunbi was slightly flustered at the number of bottles on the table. Sure, she had gone out to drink with her friends in the past, but she wasn't a good drinker. Her alcohol tolerance was essentially non-existent. It probably ran in the family since both her parents couldn't drink either.
"Hey guys, let's play truth, dare or drink."
"Ooh okay!"
"Remember that what is said here remains here." Of course, with their goals of becoming idols, such information had to be kept strictly confidential in order to maintain their image.
"Unnie, you're up first." One of her dormmates smirked, nodding at her.
"What is the wildest thing you have ever done?"
She hesitated slightly at the question. What had she done? She had strict parents, so she hadn't done anything particularly wild in fear of being found out.
"I've skipped school once?" she tilted her head to the side, trying to recall.
"Aw you're so boring. You're such a goody two shoes."
She merely smiled in reply, shaking her head.
The game continued around the table, and she was shocked at what some of them had done in their youth. Perhaps she had a boring life or just a boring group of friends. All they did was go out shopping or to eat in pretty cafes. They had never snuck in anywhere or vandalised anything.
"Sungyoon, who do you think is the prettiest girl at the table?"
Everyone was alert at this question. It was a shared sentiment among the trainees that Sungyoon was cute, even if they didn't have the intention of getting into a relationship with him, having him around always made hearts flutter.
He sighed internally. He hated these kinds of questions. It had the potential to make things awkward between them and he knew that regardless of his answer, he was going to get a lot of teasing from the others later.
Looking around the table, he observed each girl's facial features. All of them were beautiful as expected of potential idols but at the moment, there was only one girl that attracted his attention. He decided to tell the truth since it would be much more complicated if they realised that he was lying. He didn't want to offend anyone on accident.
