Gayoon thought everything would get better now—at least for 0.01 percent—and they are stepping forward.

The phone call dawned on her mind from the moment she slept; it echoed in her dream until the sun rose again.

Gayoon thought the soulmate bond was finally working for the both of them.

In the end, it's just for her.

"You've been down lately." Ryujin spoke and waved her hand in front of her cousin. "And you're spacing out."

"I'm fine. Just a lot of work," Gayoon replied while shaking her head.

"Yeah, you're like that if you're stressed with work," Yuna joined. "But your eyes aren't puffy red at the start of classes."

Gayoon just let out a small smile, then a small chuckle right after.

"I haven't slept much last night. Go on, eat, you two."

Ryujin and Yuna just shared a look, then onto Gayoon, who's hardly swallowing her food.

Throat tightening and drying for the amount of cries she had on the early strike of classes. She didn't know the soulmate bond could be a bitch until she's having it now.

The dismissal took longer than usual. Or is it just because she's not paying attention and just wants to go home?

It has been two weeks since she hasn't visited home, though Gayoon can just assume that her mom is busy at the hospital and her dad is overseas.

Sometimes she forgets that she's actually mostly alone.

Her parents weren't always by her side, and she basically grew up with her grandparents.

Ryujin's and Yuna's parents are the same, so the three were pretty much each other's heads and tails, following each other wherever they went.

Their triplet-like scenarios just slowly eased up when Ryujin met her soulmate on her 18th birthday and Yuna last year.

Both their soulmates are attending the same school, and so the boys often came together to meet the girls.

"You can always come with us, you know." Jisung smiles. "I'm sure Yuna will be very relieved if you do."

Gayoon laughed. "I'm fine; it's your date."

"Final answer?" Doyoung quipped, "Ryujin and I will be going to this chicken place. You love chicken."

"Why are you suddenly pushing me to go? It's not you."

Ryujin chuckled and pulled her in a hug. "You don't deserve this."

"What are you talking about?"

"She's been telling me about your soulmate," Doyoung answered. "You deserve a break."
