𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘚𝘞𝘌𝘌𝘛𝘌𝘚𝘛 𝘛𝘖𝘊𝘚𝘐𝘕

The world believed in soulmates.

It was a truth etched into skin—a single word, a name, or a symbol, emerging at the age of eighteen like a promise whispered by the universe itself. People clung to those marks as though they were lifelines, their entire existence folding neatly into the belief that someone, somewhere, was meant just for them.

But for Lee Donghyuck, it was all a cosmic joke.

He sat on the edge of a rooftop, cigarette in hand, watching as the city buzzed with life below. Neon lights flickered, drowning out the stars, and the air was thick with the scent of rain and rebellion. Donghyuck took a drag, exhaling slowly as he rolled up his sleeve to reveal a four-leaf clover.

He had no name, no initials, no instructions, just a symbol. It wasn't fair. It wasn't supposed to happen at all.

"Love is a gamble," he would say, flashing that signature smirk that melted hearts and shattered them in the same breath. "But why bet on a rigged game?"

He was nice—too nice, if you asked the trail of broken souls who once believed they could tame him. Donghyuck was the kind of man who held doors open, remembered your coffee order, and whispered sweet nothings under moonlit skies. But he was also the kind of man who disappeared by sunrise, leaving nothing but a lingering warmth on the other side of the bed.

It wasn't that he didn't believe in love. It was just...love felt like a leash, a prison designed to snuff out the fire in his veins. The system was a chain, and Donghyuck was determined to stay free. He lived life on his terms, testing limits, pushing boundaries, and laughing in the face of fate.

But even the freest of souls couldn't outrun destiny forever.

As he flicked the ash from his cigarette, his phone buzzed on the concrete beside him. A name flashed across the screen—a name that wasn't his but felt familiar, too familiar. His chest tightened, a sensation he hadn't felt in years, as if the universe had finally grown tired of his defiance.

Lee Donghyuck didn't believe in soulmates.

But as he reached the gates of Tantiana University, the universe would give him a reason to.
