California isn't at all what you would expect. For starters, everyone talks about how beautiful the weather is but the truth is, it's hotter than hell. My dark brown curls don't need any frizz added to them. My immature older brother running his hand through my hair every 5 seconds doesn't help that issue. Speaking of the devil, Ryan got caught watching the dirty the other day and now is on lock down. (Hopefully you understand what that means because I am not comfortable saying it.) Although the lock down probably won't last long knowing our parents. They will probably forget about it by the end of the week. being completely honest, I think they've just about given up on my brother.
I haven't been here a day and I'm already homesick. I miss Kim so much it's insane. I've been unpacking all day so I haven't talked to her other than the 5 minute phone call I made just before we got to our new house. She said she's going through hell since I'm gone, but she's not the one moving to the place that actually feels like it. And so much for a small town in the middle of nowhere. My parents fed that one to me to get me less bummed about moving here. I guess I was less bummed when I saw the house for the first time
The new house is pretty sick, I do have to say. It's a 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom house about 5 minutes from the beach. I guess my dad got some money in this new promotion, otherwise we could never afford this. We also have our own pool and hot tub. The house is behind a golf course so that's pretty cool. I even have my own bathroom attached to my room. Now I don't have to worry about falling in the toilet because of my idiot brother. I think I'll lock the door just to be safe.
It took me 4 hours to unpack and by that time I was ready to shoot someone for some food. Since we had none I took it upon myself to borrow the new car to find some food. I found no one in the house and couldn't find the keys. I opened the front door and found the car gone. "Well great, they left me" I pointlessly exclaimed to no one. As I turned around I noticed a note on the fridge. It read:
Sky, we went grocery shopping. Be back in an hour. In the meantime, check out the garage.
Love, mom and dad.Maybe they left me a car! No, they didn't leave me a car. I can't let my wishful thinking get the best of me. I ran to the garage to find an old lousy bike miserably laying in the garage. Nope, not my very own red bug convertible. Since the beach is so close I decided to check it out.
By the time I got to the beach, the sun was setting and I didn't even need sun block. However, my skin burns faster than you can even say sun block so I put some on just in case. I was searching to find any cute boys around, but I was out of luck. The only boys there were either young enough to be my kid, or old enough to be my dad. Oh well, I could use the relaxing after the day I've had.
