"Do you have to leave?" Kim persistently asked. Biting her tight blonde locks as she always does.
"Yeah, I begged my parents to let me stay but they said never in a million years."
"But you are 16, surely you are old enough to stay by yourself," she insisted while giving me her look. Her deep blue eyes prying into my soul.
"Stop giving me the look, Kim. And actually I kinda agree with them. Sixteen is early to be all by myself."

"But what if you could stay with me?" She asked. She never lets anything go.
"You are so stubborn!" I said playfully. "Plus, your parents said no already. If you keep asking, they'll get mad."
"Ugh this sucks ass." She exclaimed jumping up from the couch we were sitting on.
"You're telling me."

"When does your flight leave tomorrow?" "Around 1."
"God dammit, why are you leaving me!?" She half yelled.
"It's not my fault, Kim. I'll stay in touch, you know that. And it's not like I'll never see you again. I'm only one plane ride away. And we are family for heavens sake. I'll visit as much as I can, I promise."
"I don't understand why you can't spend the night. Your parents are depriving you of everything else in your life. What's one measly night?"
"Kim it's not the end of the world." I laugh.
"It's not like I had so many friends here anyways. I only have you. Maybe a change of scenery is a good thing."
"You're right. Oh gosh I think I just heard a car pull up." I hugged her for the last time before I moved.
"I love you Kim. You're my best friend and always will be," I whispered.
"Love you too Sky." she replied as tears fell down her eyes.

That was the moment I realized just how much I was going to miss this place.
