On the way to school I had to suffer through my taunting brother. I don't know how he found out, but he knows I skipped dinner and is now giving me crap about it. Gosh I just wish he would mind his own business.

I was thinking about the look my mom gave me this morning when I knocked into something, or someone rather. I looked up, and of course. It's the dreamy druggie. I could feel my cheeks turn a shade of tomato red and I tried to hide it, but ultimately failed.

"You new here?" He asked. His eyes are so gorgeous I could stare at them all day.
"Umm ya." I replied.
"You're not very social are ya?" He said laughing. "It's cute." And just like that. My cheeks were 2 shades redder.
"Um. Thanks?" I said trying to sound confident. But it comes out more like a question.

"So," he pinned me to the wall in that cliché way you see in the movies. Oh no. My heart is beating a mile a minute and I pray he doesn't notice. "You got a boyfriend New girl?"
"Um." Is all I could get out before he leaned in for the kiss! I just barely escaped his grasp. "Your breath!" I gasped in disgust. His breath reeked of smoke. Ugh I can't believe I almost had my first kiss wasted by him. How disgusting would that have been?
"Well damn New girl. What's wrong? Goody two shoes too good to kiss me?" He tried to pin me back against the wall but once again failed.

"You're high." I exclaimed a bit angry.
"And? What? Let me guess. You've never even seen a joint?"
"No. It's stupid to do that stuff. And so are you." I argued.
"So, if you thought I was stupid and didn't want to kiss me, or have anything to do with me.. Why are you still here?" He said with confidence as he smirked. Oh gosh, that smirk alone is enough to make my legs turn into noodles. Still, I can't let him win.
"I- you- you pinned me against the wall!" I shouted back.
"Yeah. But you're strong enough to break free. Aren't ya New girl?" He taunts with that wicked smirk of his.
"No- I don't- stop calling me that! Ugh bye!" I stammer.
"See you in Lit New girl." He smiled at me as I walked away. Great.

As I walked to lit, I noticed a figure draped over the door. There he goes again. Gosh, my first week and the only person I manage to talk to is him. Figures. I got to the door and he said some snarky comments as I pushed my way past him. I can't take this all year. I took it upon myself to make some other friends. In lit, I sat by this one girl named Ashley. She seemed pretty nice and really talkative. She has long auburn hair, bright green eyes, and the brightest smile you've ever seen. She's kinda preppy, which isn't my style, but we have some common interests.

"So you're from Missouri, huh?" Ashley asked. "Yup," I confirmed.
"So, like, is it a lot different here?"
"It's hotter than hell here and not so much there."
"Oh there's that." She laughed. "So like, what's up with you and Hunter?" She asked.
"Me and who?"
"You know, Hunter. The Hunter in the back of the classroom staring at you?" I turned around to see who the hell she was talking about and surely, it was him. So that's his name!
"You're blushing! I knew something was up! So like what happened?" I didn't even realize I was blushing, and after that I couldn't stop. "Nothing is going on between us!" I said defensively.
"Ok, ok." She said in disbelief.

Hunter didn't try to talk to me the rest of the week. Between Kim's ambush calls and Ashley's interrogations every day, there isn't a point in time I'm not thinking about him. His half smile is just the cutest quirkiest thing you've ever seen. I can't be thinking about him this much. It's just so wrong. I don't go for people like that.

Caught in the middle of thinking about Hunter, Ryan walked into my room and took my phone without me noticing.

"Who's this?" He asked as he held up my phone with a selfie of Ashley on it. Well I guess he's not the only one that takes my phone without my noticing.
"Hey! Give it back!" I yelled. Ryan is just too invasive.
"Who is it? She's hot." Ryan exclaimed while staring at the picture.
"She's my friend and way out of your league. Now give it back!"
"Only if you say please." He teased.
"Goodness gracious, you ARE 5 aren't you?" I questioned.
"Please." I sighed. Just like that, my phone was back in my possession.
"What a toddler." I mumbled.
"I heard that!" He retorted back as he left my room. Gosh, I could never picture Ashley with my brother.. The thought almost makes me want to vomit.

"So you got a name for the handsome druggie?" Kim asked persistently. I would've told her about him sooner, but she's been really busy with tests this week.
"Why are you so persistent on him?" I asked. "God dammit Sky, just give me a name!"
"Ok, ok. His name is Hunter."
"Hunter and Sky sitti-"
"Oh not you too Kim! You and Ryan are both 5 year olds now." I cut her off. She just laughed. I don't know what it is, but I never fail to make Kim laugh.

"So did you talk to him after the dumpster incident?"
"Um. Well, I mean we kind of-"
"Spill it Sky."
"He tried to kiss me!" I blurted. Whoops. That's not how I imagined telling her.
"HE WHAT?!?" Now she's excited.
"When, where, what exactly did he do? Sky?" She is definitely not dropping this anytime soon.

"Ok so I bumped into him and he asked if I was new and then he asked if I had a boyfriend and he tried to kiss me." I say as calm as possible. "You know that cliché 'pin you against the locker and kiss you' scene in the movies?" "Yes!" she eagerly answered.
"Well that's what happened."

"And you didn't let him kiss you?! That's sly and adorable Sky! Perfect first kiss!" She persisted.
"Oh yeah. The smell of smoke is definitely a turn on, Kim. He reeked." and one heck of a smile that can turn me to mush in seconds, I'd like to add but decide against it.
"Oh Kim, I have more homework to do so I'll catch up with you later." I desperately need a way to end the conversation about Hunter.
"I know you and I know that you are just avoiding the subject but you can't-" she tries to blurt but I end the call before she can finish. I know she's right, that I can't avoid it forever. I'm going to see him every day at school for goodness sakes, but I can at least put it off for a while.

I really do miss Kim. But I guess I'm happy I moved. I mean, Ashley is pretty cool too. Which reminds me, I should mention my first friend here to Kim. I'll do that next time I need a way to change the subject.

Stuck at home on a Friday night in my room watching Friends isn't exactly how I pictured my new life. Oh well, it's not like I have a car to go anywhere. Maybe Ashley has one and we can drive to the beach tomorrow. That would be pretty cool. I'm in desperate need for a tan. Lost in my own thoughts, once again, Ryan interrupts them.

"So, depressing little sis, what do you have planned for tonight?"
"Nothing." I replied.
"Great! So you can come with me to a party and drive me home."
"Excuse you, I'll do what I want to do. And it's not that."
"I'll do your chores for a week." he really wants this doesn't he? Hmm I better take advantage of this.
"Make it 2 and I'll consider it." I bargained. "Deal." He eagerly replied.
"Fine," I sighed.
"Throw me the keys." He tossed them to me and I got ready for a party. I might as well make an appearance if I'm driving him. Who knows? Maybe Ashley will be there.
