Personally I wouldn't recommend following this, as it's just the way I draw eyes, but for anyone who was wondering, this is how I draw eyes:
1. Add the skin colour

2. On a layer above, fill the whole eye in white (yes, I know eye-whites aren't fully white, I did warn you not to follow this)

3. On a layer above (or the same layer, really doesn't matter) fill the eye in a colour of your choice

4. Now you have a choice: add a lighter OR darker colour to either the top or bottom.. just add a variation of the base colour to half of the eye. I really can't explain this at all.. it's very important that you DO THIS ON THE SAME LAYER

5. blendy blend blend

6. get an üüüber dark version of the colour and do an oval-y shape for the pupil - this makes it look a lot softer/warmer than a harsh black pupil
Oh btw I cheated and used an oval tool 'cause I couldn't draw the pupil right.. 😅 don't go thinking I've got a super steady hand, it's shaky af

7. Last step! Get a REALLY REALLY REALLY LIGHT version of the base colour (but not white) and do highlights. I usually do two ovals on one side of the pupil, and a square at the bottom on the other side. I also use a textured brush, but that's just my preference, it's not necessary.
