Charley's jaw dropped. Her face drained of all colour.

"B-baby?" She stuttered. "But I took the morning after pill, how can that happen?"

"The morning after pill isn't one hundred percent effective. No contraception is. If mixed with anti-biotics, alcohol or taking vomit and diarrhoea can slim the chances considerably."

Charley remembered then the day she had received the pill. She had gotten drunk and vomited that night. She practically threw the tablets up. You idiot. Maybe if you had have done as you were told and took the two tablets twelves hours apart like you were meant too, you wouldn't be in this mess. Now who's the father? Oh God.

Panic set in, Charley groaned. Who is the father? If the choice was there she would most definitely pick Hunter as the father. He was strong, loving, he would set boundaries and always be there. Paul was not an option to be in the child's life. But this is the real world, she can't change who the biological father was. She could only hope and pray it was Hunters.

"I'm judging by your reaction the pregnancy is a surprise. Maybe a shock too?"

"Yes doctor. I am so foolish."

"These things happen."

"No not that. I took the two tablets together, got drunk that night and threw them up. That was careless. I was just going through a rough time."

"Miss Scott."

"Charley please."

"Charley. I've read your file. I've seen you were raped a few weeks back. The calculation of your gestation is five to six weeks. I'm sure I don't need to state the obvious, but there is a big chance the rapist is the child's father. There is other options."

"No! I don't want to even think about that. There is no other options to consider. This baby is mine. A part of me. Who would I be to get rid of it?" She rubbed her stomach unconsciously. This was her baby, despite the circumstances, she would never get rid of it.

"I wasn't going to suggest abortion Charley. They are illegal in Northern Ireland. I was going to suggest adoption. But bare in mind, you are only roughly five weeks pregnant. You still have just under eight months to wrap your head around the idea and decide what's best for all."

"I'm keeping it. It's my child. No one else's. Can I ask though that this stays between us."

"Of course Charley. Patient confidentiality after all."

"Doctor. Do you know when I am due?"

"Yes the first week of May. Remember though it is just an estimation."

"Thank you doctor."

"I will send in your pain meds, don't worry they are safe to take while pregnant. You will also be supplied with prenatal vitamins and folic acid. Take one a day for the first three months of your pregnancy. We can supply counselling also considering the circumstances. Good luck Miss Scott."

"Thanks Doctor Jekyll I really appreciate it."

He nodded his head and walked out the door as Hunter returned. Charley fixed a neutral expression and sent a quick smile.

"That coffee smells amazing. I'm salivating at the mouth." As Charley smelt the mouthwatering scent of the caffeinated drink, she suddenly realised she had been craving it all this time. That was one sign she was pregnant. If she hadn't been going through what she has, she would have been paying closer attention to her body, all the changes she had been having recently.

"And there was I thinking only I could make your mouth water."

"Hmm, it's a close call, but coffee wins it hands down." She tried to pull a convincing poker face but failed miserably when her lip twitched.
