Hunter read the note over and over again trying to make sense of it. His sight switched from the note to the small scan picture he held in his hand.

'I'm sorry

Charley 831

X'

Was all Charley had wrote. She had left her key, minus the keyring, and her scan picture. Hunter knew exactly what he was hold between his hands but for the life of him, he didn't want to believe it. Not that Charley was possibly carrying his child, but that she had left him.

His heart shattered into millions of pieces. Too many to put back together. Did he not do all he could to support her? Show his endless love to her? Show how much she meant to him? Or did she run because of the baby? She must have thought Hunter would want nothing to do with the baby. But damn it, that child could be his. Even if not biologically he would still raise it as his own. He loved her too much to lose her.

Why couldn't she come to him? Tell him? Did he really come across as unapproachable? He had been there for Charley through her ordeal, helping to pick up the pieces and bring back the feisty blonde who had surrounded his every waking thought of her. Only her. And now the baby. This was going to be his child. He was going to make damn sure it was. First, he had to contact her, reassure her all would be well and they would both raise that child together.

He thought back on how he had reacted yesterday morning when he forgot the condom. Was it any wonder she fled? She probably thought he didn't want children. He was so insensitive. He had to fix this.

Hunter rang Charley's phone but received the voicemail messaging service. What else did he expect? Charley to pick up and greet him as warmly as ever? No doubt she has tossed the phone and would get a new one.

He tried to ring again and was still forwarded to the messaging service. He had to try again just to be sure. Owen might know the whereabouts of his sister, hopefully.

Regretfully, Charley did not pick up considering it went straight to the voicemail service. He began to call Owen and was ecstatic he answered straight away but did not allow himself to bask in the joy just yet. He could not settle until he knew for sure what was going on.

"Owen, it's Aidan. Do you know where Charley is?" He spoke quickly, the panic in his voice was evident.

"I dropped her off at your house a few hours ago. Is she not home?"

It took everything in Hunter not to snap at Owens stupidity. He wouldn't be calling to ask if she was here.

"No Owen she's not here. Can you call her and see if you can get her? Every time I call it's just going to voicemail service."

"Yeah sure but if it's going to voicemail for you then more than likely it will do the same for me."

"Just humor me okay?"

"Sure. I'll call back and let you know."

"Thanks. I've just got to make another quick call." Hunter hung up before he could receive a reply. His fingers made quick work to speed dial the one person that knew where Charley be.

Charley pulled up in front of a cheap hotel. It didn't bother her where she would stay for the time being, as long as she had somewhere to stay for now until she could think things through thoroughly. She walked confidently into the lobby of the budgeted hotel. A quick glimpse of her surroundings alerted her to the barely dressed females, she knew instantly by the thigh high, black, PVC boots what type of women they were. She quickly looked away to avoid any confrontation with the prostitutes, their reputation alone was enough for Charley to fear.
