One Rule (Sasuke x OC)

Chapter 13: Panic

Couple of weeks past since the first day at my new job. I liked working there. Also I met two girls Temari and Ten-Ten. Both of them were cool and easy to talk to. I enjoyed their company. 

I didn't have friends in Tokyo. Well.. I used to have one best friend before.. some things happened.

It's a story for another time..

I was not even sure if she knew I was back in Tokyo. So I just left it as it was. I surely did not want for her to know.

During this period Sasuke and I had our casual hook ups now and then. I was afraid it would get complicated after some time. 

However all the doubts went away after getting a bit familiar with Sasuke and his persona. I was glad that he did not have any planes for our 'relationship' either. 

We would always meet at his place cause I didn't have my own yet. But seeing him at his place, having his own space made me want to have that as well.

I liked living with my father and sister, however I missed the freedom I had while living in New York. 

But something was holding me back. 

Not sure what it was..

Putting all the thoughts to the side I just went for it. I blamed it all on my nerves and overthinking. 

I called an estate agent and scheduled a meeting to look at one of the apartments I looked up online.

On my way to the apartment suddenly my phone started buzzing. 

Pulling my phone out of my pocket I saw Sasuke's caller ID. 

- Hey there sexy face, - I greet him. 

I would always try to make him laugh or even get small giggle. I would never admit to myself but I liked when he's smiling.

A chuckle could be heard from other end of the line.

- Hey, - his deep voice went straight to my core. He could make me wet by just speaking. 

Or I was desperately horny.

- What are you doing? Can you come over? - he asked. I felt the frustration in his tone.

- Uh, no.. Sorry, I'm going to look at an apartment to move in.- I felt a bit guilty saying no but I wouldn't just drop everything for a booty call. 

- Where are you headed to? - he asked. 

It took me by surprise if I'm being honest cause our calls would usually end right there. 

I told him the address I was going to.

- Okay, see you there. 

- WHAT? - I couldn't contain the shock I had.

- What? - he spoke in his indifferent tone. - I want to see the place. I will be spending sometime there as well so it makes sense.  

- Um.. yeah s-sure if you want to.

- Hn, - and he hung up. 

"What the hell?" I thought to myself. I didn't notice that I stopped walking.

"We never met for anything besides to hook up and even after I just grab my staff and get the hell out. Why would he all of a sudden want to hang out?" I couldn't help my thoughts. It was fucking confusing. 

I ran my fingers through my hair in attempt to calm myself.

"Damn it Sasuke! We had an agreement" I started to walk in a fast pace. 

"He's not thinking this is going somewhere, right? Right?". To say I was freaked out it would be an understatement. 

"Just breathe Sayuri, Sasuke is not the type of guy to get attached or to want a relationship. He's bachelor by nature. It's nothing, you're just overthinking... as always" I tried to soothe my panic. 

After some walking and going crazy with my thoughts I was in front of the apartment building. I got into the lobby and saw the estate agent waiting for me. 

And right next to him was standing Sasuke with his whole glory. 

- Shit, - I mumbled to myself refusing eye contact with him and walking to them a bit hesitant.

- Hi, shall we? - I said quickly with a forced smile still not giving Sasuke a single look. 

- Hello miss Hara. Sure, let me show you the way, - the agent said walking away to the staircase. 

I started walking right behind him leaving Sasuke by himself. 

I could feel his eyes burning my back. After few second I could hear footsteps behind me. 

The agent showed us the apartment. It was really nice, studio like apartment. One bedroom with attached bathroom and closet. Kitchen and living room together with windows from ceiling to floor. It had everything that I wanted in the apartment and most importantly it felt homey. 

- Woah, - I breathed out looking through the window. It had an amazing view of the city. 

- I'll give you guys a moment, - the agent said with a smile and left.

- Thanks, - Sasuke's voice made all the panic come rushing back.

He walked next to me and looked through the window with stoic face. We stood there in silence for couple of minutes and it was not a comfortable one. 

- I know I freaked you out, - he started all of a sudden making me look directly at him for the first that day. 

- I didn't mean to.. uh.. sorry. 

My eyes widen. 

"Did.. he.. just.. apologize?"

- This does not change things between us if that's what you're worried about. I don't want anything serious. I just..ugh.. - he let a long sigh running his fingers through his black hair. 

- I wanted to get away from everyone and you're the only person that does not annoy me, - he said with a little smile on his lips, - much. 

I could not help but giggle. 

- Couldn't help yourself, could you? - I said still giggling. 

He turned to look at me still smiling. His smile never failed to make my insides warm and I hated it.

- Also I wanted to let my frustration on you if you know what I mean, - he winked and moved his gaze back to the city.

- Yeah, sorry I couldn't be there for you.

- You're here now, - he said still looking beside him.

 His words made my breath stuck in my throat. 

"Damn it Sasuke.." I could help but stare at him in panic..

Cause I knew.. 

There was a change I would be the one to break that one rule..
