I had to call him. I had to. My hands were shaking but I still pressed the call button. He picked up after the second ring. Never was I so worried to hear him sounding so happy.
"Hey love, what's up? Everything good?" He asked, chuckling lightly. The background noise of his fish tank buzzing behind his cheerful voice.
"Yes. I am perfectly fine," I said, emotionless. "But we're over. This is done. I'm going to study at the castle from now on. I'm sorry I made you suffer. You won't hear from me ever again. I'll let you alone. Goodbye, Simon. Take care." And without one word more and any chance for him to answer, I hung up.
