chapter 1: teen years

Present day

Sapphires pov

I heard mom, " sapphire, you still want to go get supplies?" I said, " sure. Just five more minutes." She said, " sapphire, it's one in the afternoon." My eyes shot open, " crap. And I have to meet the guys later. Crap. Okay meet you downstairs at five."

I raced out of bed, grabbing a quick offutt, and got dressed, grabbed my combat boots and threw them on. Running downstairs, " I didn't fall. I'll tie them in the car."

Mom just laughed at me. " Come on crazy." I smiled, and so we got in the car and went.

Oh s**t, sorry mate. Hi, my name is Sapphire. I'm 15 years old, and not dead. Sorry, I am very outgoing. I get part of that from my mom. Yes I know what happened. But to be honest, my mom was actually pretty nuts.

She traveled a lot so I was only like what, six or seven years old? I'm used to touring. She was in a band, and she always brought me with her. She told me and I quote, " my little raven, wherever I go, you will always go with me. I will never let you out of my sight."

That was my nickname she gave me, little raven. I was a very dark child, I started to watch horror movies when I was five. I kid you not, I laughed at the gore. But it's all good. Oh my relationship with my dad and Gia, who I think of as mom really. They are my parents' yeah, but I love them to death.

But yes I will explain a little more later, but this is me for now.

So yeah that's me, and my friends are all guys, weird as can be, they are like my brothers I swear. But we are a band, have been since I was twelve,

There's, max he's sixteen, then there's Nate, he's the youngest of us. He's thirteen, then there is Cooper, he's the oldest of us. Seventeen. But yeah. That's us. And we are a creatures nightmare. Grim, no, we are all metalheads for hell's sake.

But dad knows I'm in a band, but dad doesn't know that we have our first show this next month. The day before Halloween. I am so freaking excited. But for now, getting more school supplies. And a few offutts and one I am ordering online. Mom let me. But it's all awesome. And I'm so fucking excited. Sorry about my language I've been swearing since I was a kid.

So moving on to the store

At the mall

After a few hours of shopping, " okay have you told your dad?" I shook my head, " I'm wanting to tell him tonight." And I have been wanting to do this, " hey mom? I got a question for you."

She said, " sure what's up?" I asked, " can I get my tongue pierced?" She said, " sure. But let's ask your dad. He will more or less be okay with it."

Conversation: speaker- Gia, Chris, sapphire

C: hi babe

G: hi.

C: everything okay?

G: yeah. We just have a question for you.

C: what did you do sapphire?

S: hey I didn't do anything yet dad.

C: good. What's up?

S: can I get my tounge pierced?

C: sure. Just make sure you don't do anything else well just don't get into trouble.

S: thank you!!!!!

C: how long till you two get home?

S: maybe an hour or two. I don't know.

C: okay, I love you my little raven, and I love you my queen.

I awwd, " You two are so cute."

C: most kids would say ew. I love you girls.

S: love you dad.

G: bye chris. We will see you when we get home.

Mom hung up. And I smiled, " ready for an adventure?" I nodded, " how do you think dad is gonna react when I tell him?" Mom smiled, " he will be ecstatic. How is the band doing?" I replied, " good, but we are all on edge because of next month." Mom said, " Oh sweetie, don't worry. You guys are gonna rock the roof off the place."

I smiled, " thanks mom."

At home

We got home, and dad doesn't know about the show. So being as we are playing xbox right now, " hey dad, I gotta tell you something." He growled, " who do I have to kill?" I laughed, " no one dad. But, the night before Halloween, can I stay out late" he paused the game, " okay what's up?" I smiled, " promise not to crush my ribs?"

He raised an eyebrow, " give me a good reason to let you stay out late?" I smiled, " a creature's nightmare has its first show the day before Halloween." And with that, he crushed my ribs in a hug, " dad room getting darker."

He let go, " also, we need to talk about your sweet sixteen." I sighed, " okay, and no girly gross things." I shuddered, " this is how I know your daughter." I laughed.

Dining room

We were in the dining room, " okay, plan ideas. What do you want to do?" I said, " I don't know. But definitely something incorporating Halloween and gore." They smiled, and so we started to plan. I'm happy about my birthday for once.

I've decided to make this a short story instead. But will incorporate it into everything of the series.

So therefore I'm gonna cut it off at the sweet sixteen.
