'Pathetic', Hope thought as she watched Lizzie trip over herself to speak with Rafael.
"Hey, Hope!" Landon called.
"Landon, hey!" Hope replied as she gave Landon a quick kiss. 'I hope he chokes on his tongue'.
"Can I walk you to class?"
"Of course!" Hope responded. 'Why would you want to walk me to class? Do you think yourself capable of protecting me? Idiot.'
Hope Mikaelson isn't sure of many things in life, but she was sure of two things. One, she was a God amongst mortals. Nothing those pathetic humans or supernaturals could do would defeat her. She was unkillable, while she could also kill whomever she desired.
Hope knows she was made to be worshipped.
The second fact? The only person worthy of Hope's attention was Elizabeth Saltzman.
Hope didn't have this mindset growing up, her mother and aunt made sure of that. No.. they locked her away. They didn't want her to see her true potential.
But after her dad died, she realized she outlived the supposed 'most powerful man alive'. She scoured all the libraries she could, in search of a creature more powerful than she is.
She found none.
That day she realized that Hope Mikaelson was the name of a God.
She went through the rest of her life seeing everyone else as nothing more than ants.
When she met Lizzie Saltzman, that changed.
Lizzie wasn't a regular witch, she was a heretic. She was capable of siphoning the power and life from others.
In theory, she could siphon Hope dry.
Hope kept an eye on the blonde after that realization.
Of course, she knew that Lizzie's sister, Josie, was supposedly just as powerful. But she also knew that that was a lie.
If you asked anyone at Salvatore Boarding School who the most powerful twin is, they would reply with 'Josie'.
Perfect Josie who gets perfect grades.
Perfect Josie who would never hurt a fly.
'Perfect' is a word invented by ants. Invented by people who fear mistakes.
Hope knew she wasn't perfect. She knew she had her faults, knew she shouldn't be thinking about others as pests.
That was the problem with Josie.
Josie was just too perfect, too good.
'Goodness' holds people back from true power.
The day Hope watched Lizzie Saltzman explode the kitchen in a fit of anger, she knew Lizzie was the one person worthy enough to stand by her side.
While Josie was naive, manipulative, Lizzie was anything but.
Lizzie was a powerhouse. Lizzie would tear down mountains to get her way. That, in Hope's opinion, is true power.
Since that day, Hope has vowed to one day make Lizzie her equal.
She vowed that Lizzie would be hers, and she would be Lizzie's.
Of course, she had to keep in mind that Lizzie was still a teenage girl.
Lizzie still had childish crushes. Hope had to calm herself, had to make herself remember that Lizzie just wasn't aware yet of her true power.
So, Hope started dating Landon.
Lizzie Saltzman was experienced in dating, and Hope didn't want her to have the upper hand after all.
The brunette watched as Lizzie keened for Rafael. She watched as the mutt looked to the worse twin instead.
She decided then that she would kill Rafael.
But of course, she couldn't yet.
No, she had to bide her time.
She had to make Lizzie see the truth, to see the world as it truly is.
Then.. then they will finally rule as they were meant to.
