Chapter 14

Flashback:

There was a huge silence in the waiting area. Only soft sobs could be heard. Everyone present there had their eyes wet. It was only Soyeon who was not crying. Her eyes were dried and fixed only on the loosely closed tap of the water filter from which drops of water were falling at a fixed interval in the same way as her hope was ending.

How could she cry and be weak when her love is fighting for his life inside the OT. She had his mother in her embrace slowly stroking her back while the latter one kept on silently shedding tears for her dying son.

Everyone was present there. Her parents, his parents, Taehyung and Jungkook. None of them spoke a single word. All of them were in a shock. None of them had the idea that their happy days will turn out like this until the news flashed on the screen.

'The popular orthopedic sugeon Dr Park Jimin suffered an accident this morning on the highway while his visit in Busan'

Just this news headline was enough to snatch away the smiles on the faces of Park's and Kim's who were busy preparing and doing arrangements for the marriage ceremony held tomorrow. This news was enough to make Soyeon go numb. The news was too much for the poor girl. The single piece of headline was enough to answer all their question on why Jimin wasn't answering any calls. The phone was still under the backseat of his fully crushed car.

"It has already been hours. When are the doctors going to come back and tell us that he is fine?" Taehyung finally spoke. These were the first words he has spoken after getting the news. The poor guy was too strucked to say anything. As soon as he got the news, he just rushed all his way to the hospital in just his slippers only to get a glimpse of the lifeless body of his friend covered in blood being wheeled inside the room.

Jungkook put his hand on his shoulder not knowing what to say. His heart was already clenching. Just then a doctor came out of the OT and pulled his cap down. Seeing the doctor, all the family members hurdled around him hopelessly hoping to have a good news.

Their hopeful eyes made the doctor sigh in pity as he spoke "I am sorry. We won't be able to save him. The patient has just a few minutes. I suggest you all to meet him. Don't cry or say something to make him panick. The nurse will assist you to his ward"

Eventhough the news just teared evryone's heart but right now their main motive was to meet Jimin. Not sparing a single moment, everyone followed the nurse to his ward except a girl who stood their blankly staring in space still processing the words.

They can't save him.

That means he won't survive.

He will leave me.

What about our marriage?

Its tomorrow.

No no this can't be.

She shook her head as she slowly stepped towards the doctor tugging his apron.

"You are lying,right? Please doctor save him. You are a doctor then how can you loose hope? Please. I beg you please." The doctor looked at her with pity. She fell down on her knees near his feet while the doctor tried to make her stand. Her eyes which till now were dried and full of strength that nothing will happen to her love was now all wet and continously dropping tears. 

 "I am sorry Miss Kim. We tried our best but his bones are badly crushed. He even have several internal injuries. I suggest you to meet him" The doctor patted her shoulders as he finally walked away mentally praying for the peace in the heart of the wailing girl.

No No This is not true.

I know this is a prank.

Jungkook and Taehyung are also in this.

Scratch that mom and dad are also in this. 

Everyone is pranking me.

I will go and scold them. 

Speaking to herself, she rushed to the ward only to have her hopes crushed. Her love lying on his death bed attached to various wires and his heart supported by life support machine. His parents sitting beside him saying soothing words to him to ease his pain. His friends trying to control their tears and tell him that he is strong. Never ever in her life she had thought of seeing something like this.

Slowly she stepped towards his bed gaining all the attention in the room. Jimin also turnd his head slightly towards her. A small smile lingering on his face. Painfully he shifted his hand towards her a little bit gesturing her to hold it.

More tears welled up in Soyeon's eyes as she ran towards him and held it softly. Seeing his condition, her heart broke even more. His head was bandaged completely with small patched of red on it, there were scratraches on his face, his hands and legs were completely wrapped in bandages, various wires and tubes were attached to him . She shook her head not believing all this.

"Stop the prank please." Jimin smiled a bit and tried to squeeze her hand making her understand that this isn't a prank. Its real and she has to accept the fate.

"Jimin-ah the doctors" She complained crying as tears fell down rentlessly down her rosy cheeks. "Those doctors said that you are going to leave me Jimin. They are lying, right? You are going to stay. We will marry tomorrow, right?" Hearing her cries, the people present couldn't contain their tears anymore. Few drops of tears too fell from Jimin's eyes eventhough he has accepted his fate. 

Jimin lifted his hand till her cheek even though it pained a lot and spoke "I won't. I won't leave you. I will never leave a monster behind me who can eat the whole fridge." He tried to make her smile. "I will always be beside you. Right here" He said as he pointed her heart.

His words. It broke her heart and crushed it mercilessly. She was not ready to leave him. 

" No Jimin Please" She tried to convince him as if she would convince him and make him stay. " Be with me. I will never tease you. You promised me so many things. We were going to marry tomorrow. What about it ? What about our honeymoon? I am ready to run away with you tomorrow. I will also not fight with you. Please just don't leave me. You don't to be a prefect or ideal husband. Just be with my side Jimin-ah. I need you."

"Do you love me?" The question caught her off guard. She stared at him. "I am asking something Soyeon-ah" Jimin spoke.

"I freaking love you Jimin. Please Jimin .You promised me that you won't ever leave me . You promised that you will always hold my hand. Even if I leave your hand in our journey of life,You will keep on holding. Why are you leaving now." She begged crying even more squeezing his pale hands. "Lets not talk about things that can't happen. I don't have time and I need to do something" He spoke weakly and softly. His body already paining with all these. He slowly roamed his eyes all over the room searching for a particular face in admist of all the family members.

The same person who he knew will keep his Soyeon safe and happy. He knew that once he leaves Soyeon, there will be a void in her life and heart but this particular person can surely be able to fill that. Finally his eyes rested on his face who was looking back at him with sad eyes as if begging his one and only soulmate to stay. Jimin softly called out his name

"Taehyung-ah"
