Part 2: Schulzation
────────────────────────

Birds were flying, folks were singing beside the streets accompanied by people's laughter and colorful banners hung high above the roads, lightening the village. Chassid look around in awe. It was like a scene from a dream.

The buildings are not so tall, which gave him a better view of the sky. The sun wasn't surrounded by a Dyson Sphere and the abundance of trees provided a healthy amount of shade for players and NPC's to take shelter.

He walked through and passed by a familiar person. Though he looked different here, his name obviously belonged to someone he knew.

"Huhu, Chass?"

"Reyo?"

They bumped their fists and Reyo exploded in a fit of laughter. "Your avatar is so weird!"

Chassid's brows met. "And did anyone told you? Your avatar looks just as stupid as you."

Instead of being offended, Reyo laughed more, holding his stomach. Chassid stared at him and sighed. They sat under the huge shade of an oak tree and watch the players and NPC's as they passed through and fro.

"I might look stupid but I know I'm smart. Smart enough to befriend you, geez."

Chassid clicked his tongue.

"So, how do you feel with your new body?"

He shrugged and stood. "I feel less shitty." He stretched his arms and pretends to jog on a threadmill.

"Huhu, I'm glad." Reyo stood next to him. "Do you want to join a team? They are making lots!"

Chassid stopped and recalled what he had read from books. Most of those who get strong were characters who are alone. They have no liability. The word made him clench his fists when the image of his father passed through his mind's eye. "No. I'm going to do the quests alone."

He left Reyo who had a guilty look on his face. He listened to Chassid's fading footsteps before turning his back with a sigh.

Chassid's footsteps halted, he turned to see Reyo's back inching away from him.

The tall grasses danced while he stared at the white box blankly. He knew what to do: Take the starting weapons and kill the giant grasshoppers hopping to his direction. But, he can't move.

He will only be respawned if he died, what could possibly kill him in this fake world? Nothing. With these thoughts, Chassid drew his wooden sword and jumped to the air, releasing all the anger and resentment he was keeping for years.

Perhaps it was the system guiding the players; one slash of his sword killed three grasshoppers. Their blood splattering on his face felt so right.

"You deserve it. You're all bugs!" he screamed with every slash of his sword.

"I'm strong. I can do anything here." One grasshopper was sliced to half. He chuckled. "This is the thrill I've been looking for." The grass was cut along with some enemies.

He panted and crouched to the ground. The sound of bell rang out and items were dropped in his inventory.

[Congratulations! You received a reward.]

Chassid ignored the notification and ran to the mountains to kill more monsters. He wasn't doing it only for the sake of rewards, he was doing it for the reason that it makes him feel good.
