Agust held out his hand, stopping his younger self and Namjoon from advancing as they headed down the sidewalk back to the house.
"Wait, Suga should be leaving to pick up Yoongi from his piano lessons any moment now." He whispered, ushering them behind a tree.
"Why do we all need to hide?" Namjoon complained, his form barely concealed behind the trunk. "We just need Blondie here to not be seen."
The front door opened and Suga came out, keys in his hand as he walked to the car. After unlocking it and sliding inside, the car was still for a few moments, before backing down the driveway.
Agust waited until the car had vanished from sight down the road, before hurrying into the house- his little entourage following.
"Okay," he sighed, leaning against the door once they were all inside. "We'll have about half an hour to ourselves, maybe an hour if Yoongi wants to play a piece for Suga."
"Someone needs to tell me what the fuck is going on." Namjoon demanded immediately. "Who was that king dude? Does he have magical powers or something? How is any of what happened possible? And who the hell are you?" He whirled around and pointed at the younger Agust.
"You don't recognize me?" The youngest pouted. "It's only been four years!"
Namjoon was clearly confused and overwhelmed. "I mean, I know you must be...Agust, because you look just like him. But that's impossible, because Agust is right there!" Now he pointed to the black haired boy.
"I don't know who that king was, or why he looked similar to me." Agust said, walking over to his boyfriend. He rubbed his hands over the boys arms, trying to calm him down. "I just know he's running from a curse, that's what all that darkness was. His sword is magic or something, it can cut through time. He's been using it to outrun the curse, but it doesn't seem to be a permanent solution. There was a little, uh, time mishap, and the version of me from 2016 ended up in 2020, with us." He summarized.
Blonde Agust bit his nails nervously. "Am I going to like, fade away into nothing? Since I'm not in my proper timeline? Are we both going to die?"
Agust shrugged. "Shit if I know. But I think that if any of that was going to happen, it would have happened already. I mean, that king dude seems to be breaking a lot of time rules and yet he's still alive and well. Maybe those kind of scenarios only exist in movies."
Namjoon dragged his hands over his face, taking a deep breath. "Okay...now what do we do? With the sword broken, we can't bring Blondie back to his time. Is he just going to be stuck here now?"
Agust hopped onto the couch, relaxing onto it. "Without the sword, we can't do anything. But neither can the king. He must have been sent back to his own time when it snapped. At least we won't see him again."
"Everyone's going to be looking for me back in my time." The youngest worried. "They'll think I ran away or got killed or something." He looked to his older self. "Suga and Yoonie and Namjoon...they'll be heartbroken. Won't that mess up this timeline? If I disappeared in the past, how can I exist normally in the future? Your timeline will get fucked up too."
"We need that sword." Namjoon decided. "We have to fix this before something bad happens." He shot a look to Agust. "You just had to break it, huh?"
"Uh, sorry for saving our lives!" Agust exclaimed. "He was trying to kill us with that thing, remember?"
"I don't think the king is going to just sit and do nothing." The younger Agust said. "He's probably going to fix the sword and come back. Maybe he'll even bring a whole army this time."
"Well, if he does, then we get a chance to fix time." Agust shrugged. "And if he doesn't then we'll be safe."
Namjoon shook his head. "We can't leave our timelines like this. I'm going to do some research."
"Sounds good, gay ass boyfie." Agust grabbed the remote and turned on the TV, switching it to the local news.
Namjoon sighed, walking back to the couch. He picked up the smaller boy easily, lifting him bridal style to nuzzle against Agust.
"Are you okay?" He murmured, shaking slightly from everything that happened.
Agust held him tightly, burying his face in his boyfriends neck. "I'm okay, love. I'm sorry for all of this." He whispered, relieved he had someone as amazing as Namjoon by his side.
"It's not your fault." Namjoon assured him, kissing him deeply.
Agust kissed him back, but at the back of his mind, he couldn't agree.
The evil king had looked just like him.
What if the evil king was him?
