AJ's POV
I was relieved that not everyone decided to drive together to school on Monday. Way too much drama happened over one weekend for me to have to sit in a car with all the people I got into drama with. Brighton and I were going to drive alone, but I'm honestly not thrilled to see him either. He's been desperate to figure out what happened between Storm and me since last night. It's not at all my place to tell anyone what Storm told me in confidence. Especially when Lance's coming out was plastered on Jenny's gossip blog for weeks. He was the first person in our grade to come out as gay and people ate it up. Not that Lance cared that much because he loves the attention and he was living for the fame it brought him. My coming out wasn't as big of a deal, mostly because I'm not as popular as Lance and I was the 5th person to announce that they were gay to the student body. So at that point, no one cared. But if an A-lister like Storm was announced to be anything other than straight, all hell would break loose."So are you finally going to tell me what happened on Friday?" Brighton asked, I was perched in the front seat of Clifford and Brighton just had to interrupt my thoughts again.
"Brighton, for the last time it is not my place to say what happened between Storm and I."
I tried to remain firm in my choice not to tell him anything. Even though I want to tell Brighton everything because he is my best friend, I just can't.
"Come on! I kept the secret that you liked Storm for years! You can trust me." That was true, but outing someone is not my place.
"Brighton, one day you will know, but today is not that day. How about we talk about you and Wynter. That's always a fun topic of conversation." In my opinion, the whole Brighton and Wynter thing was so beyond annoying, but what do you expect from two straight people. Even though Wynter is bisexual. Hmmm close enough.
"Wynter wouldn't even look at me last night, I seriously don't know what is going on and I'm in the center of all this drama."
"You know what I am, I'm bored. This situation is so boring that I rather listen to Lyric list off the cliques and talk about how we are at the top of the social hierarchy. Just ask her out or something."
"You're right, I'm just not sure if this is the best plan of action." I made sure to audibly groan as hard as possible.
"You know, for a Libra, you are so unbelievably dense. She likes you and she's probably waiting for you to ask her out. I know I brought up you and Wynter, but I'm done hearing about this 'misunderstanding' or whatever." Brighton patted me on the shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but I'm just a dumb teen. I'm not as emotionally advanced as you, Mr. Cries every weekend."
"Oh shut it, you talk a big game considering you wouldn't be able to swoop up a pick me girl." He pushed my head.
"I'll choke you out." He playfully threatened.
"Oh please, daddy! You know how much I love it rough." I pinched his cheeks.
"Okay, keep it in your pants, short stack." He laughed as we pulled up into the parking garage at school. I noticed Storm's car was already here and so was Lyric's. Storm had early morning practice, but I have no idea why Lyric showed up early. As I hopped out of the car I noticed that Wynter was pulling up. I elbowed Brighton in the stomach. "Talk to her."
"I'm not ready though and Wynter clearly doesn't look like she's in the mood." I rolled my eyes as he continued to list off different excuses.
"Hey, Wynter!" I waved her over and she very reluctantly came over to us.
"Hey, guys." She forced out. Then I noticed it, was she hung over? She had on big round sunglasses and looked like death.
