Avery Florington

I'm just a normal american school girl. Black hair, sky blue eyes, all normal stuff. Except the fact that my dad's in the military. I have a big brother named Alvin. My mom's an inventor. You may say I have an awesome life, but it isn't that awesome once my dad leaves for the military and my whole family is being pressured that he might be killed. It actually scares me shitless. Right now I'm in school and it's lunch time, so I meet with the gang in our normal table. (I'm also quite stubborn and I don't think before I act. Who cares though? #YOLO.)

"Yo, Avery! You seem later than usual!" My friend Abigail called me as I walked towards the table

"I had business to do." I answered as I sat beside her

Abigail is a rowdy and careless girl who mostly does the stupidest shit ever. I remember her last year wacking a hornet's hive with a stick. She ended up in the infirmiry for quite awhile. She may be stupid, but she cares for all of us. I also remember her eating a worm as a bet because the bet was that if she lost, some guys would take all our lunch money. Pretty heroic of her. Yet highly repulsive.

"What was it?" Abigail asked

"Nothing of your concern." I replied

"Good afternoon guys." A voice sounded behind us.

Me and Abigail turned around to see Laylah, she sat in between me and Abigail.

Laylah is a very studious girl. We call her "Nerd Lord" and she narks us off because of it. She's also physically weak and depends on something to throw. She takes archery as a hobby and is part of the archery club. With a bow, she's deadly. But without a bow, she's less deadly because she'd most likely chuck a book at you.

"Library?" Me and Abigail asked in unison

"Yep." Laylah answered as she pulled a book out of nowhere (seriously though, where'd she get that?!) and started reading.

Me and Abigail just chatted about what's been going on while Laylah silently listened and nodded.

"Oh, hey there brit." Abigail turned her head when she saw Alice walk in.

"My name isn't "Brit". It's Alice Clarke. Get your facts right." Alice rolled her eyes

Alice chose to sit beside me and stared at me.

"What?" I asked

"Oh, nothing. You just look nice today." Alice replied monotonely

"Was that a gay compliment, or a friend compliment?" I asked urgently

"Friend compliment." Alice replied

'Thank the lord, Jesus Christ' I thought.

Alice is the asshole type, but the good asshole type. She makes a lot of smart-ass replies and comebacks that it blows my mind to bits. And as Abigail said, she's british.

"What happened in class?" Alice asked

"Normal stuff." I replied while taking out my sub sandwhich and taking a bite.

"Is that a sub sandwich I see?" I turn around to see Madison smiling

"Mm yeah!" I said, swallowing my sub sandwich

"It looks delicious!" Madison giggled

"Yep." I smiled

Madison is the softie in our group. She's really shy. And did I mention that she's the tallest among of us?

"Where's Ike?" Abigail asked

"Here I am! Good afternoon, my dear Alice." Ike suddenly popped out of nowhere

"Uuuuuuuuuugh." Alice groaned as she slammed her face on the table

Ike Wright. This guy is cocky (When I mean cocky, I mean giant ego.), but he isn't really that strong. I remember that I judo flipped him by accident because he scared me. I Don't blame him though, he doesn't seem to use his brain quite often.

Ike forcefully nudged me aside so that he can sit beside Alice.

"I have a personal bubble. Please stay away from me." Alice scooched away from Ike

"Aww, playing hard to get, are ya? Your just making me love you more!" Ike said, hugging Alice

"PERSONAL BUBBLE!!!! LEMME GOOOOOO!!!" Alice flailed about.

I sighed and put my half eaten sandwich down.

"Let her go, Wright. Unless you want a broken bone." I threatened.

"Jeez. Alright. Can't a man have fun?" Ike said, letting go of an agitated Alice

"I don't remember you being a man." Alice said as she dusted herself

"Eh?" Ike deadpanned

I was about to bite into my sub when somebody decided to snatch off my hands.

"What the-" I glared at the culprit

And it was my brother, Alvin.

"Hey there, little sis. Can't you let your big brother have a small bite of your sub?" Alvin said

"Uh, no. You have your own. Mom packed one for you." I inquired as I tried to snatch the sub back

"I finished it." Alvin raised his eyebrows

"THAT FAST?!" I gaped at him

"Yes. I promise that it'll only be a small bite." Alvin said

"You promise." I glared at him

Alvin shrugged his shoulders as he took a small bite of my sandwich.

"See? Small bite." Alvin said as he gave me back my submarine sandwich

"Hm. I actually expected you to run away with it, but you didn't. Good job." I said as I took a big bite

"You looked really hungry." Alvin remarked as he ruffled my hair

"H-hey! Don't do that!" I said as I slapped Alvin's hand away from my head

"Your so sensitive over your hair." Alvin smiled as he poked my cheek

"Stooooooooooop." I groaned in annoyance

I pushed Alvin's hand away when the bell suddenly rang.

"Aw what?! I didn't finish my sub!" I exclaimed

"You can finish it later. C'mon guys, let's go to class." Alvin motioned for the others to go.

"Bye Avery." All of them left one by one

"Uuuuuuugh. Stupid bell." I said as I wrapped my sandwich and but it back in the brown paper bag.

I stood up and left for class, but what I didn't know was everything going to shit later.
