One week ago

Jack pov

"You're welcome Astrid!" Mari said. I smiled at Astrid when i relised she wasn't moving. "Guys i don't think she's moving!" I said starting to panic! "What!?" Mari and camicazi exclaimed. We checked her pulse and heart, nothing!

I couldn't think of anything but her. Her smile always made my day, her blue eyes, dragon or not, they shine like the stream in the cove. Now i will see neither because of the eggs made he pass away. Mari and camicazi picked her body up. "Jack you keep the eggs safe and warm, they are yours after all." Mari said.

I nodded and grabbed them. I grabbed my staff and took off to the north pole, where i live, to talk to north. "Jack what you doing here?" North asked until he seen the eggs. "Why you have eggs?" He asked. "Astrid pass away after she laid the eggs." I said trying hard not to cry.

"Oh jack." North said as he hugged me. He helped me to my room and keep the eggs warm. "Don't worry it will be okay." North said. He left me alone with my kids. "Don't worry i will take care of you!" I told the eggs even though i know they can't hear me.

And i kept my promise to them, a week after they were laid was Astrids funeral. I took them there as they buried her. For three months everyday at the same time I visited the cove. When it was Astrids birthday and a year since she and her cousins became queen. 2 things unexpected happened.

When i got back from the day I couldn't think of anything. I got ready for bed when I heard something. I turned to the eggs, seeing they were finally hatching. I sat on a stool as I looked at them. It was after five minutes when the first one hatched.

The dragon was white as my hair with a mix of my and Astrids eye color. Then the second one hatched. This one was blue with brown eyes. They both looked at me. The first one crawled to the edge before i caught them.

I put the two on a nest i made, as the third one was still not hatching all the way. "Come on, you can do it!" I told them. The egg started cracking. When they hatched there was two dragons. No wonder Astrid took a hour laying it.

One was a mix of white and blue with a mix of brown and blue eyes while the second was a dark blue with a mix of blue and white. I gently put them on the nest as i cleared there eggshells. I looked at them as I thought of names for them. I have been thinking for three months. Suddenly there was a knock at the door.

I opened to see north. I put a finger to my mouth quickly to speak quietly and nodded to my kids. "I was coming to check on you, seems you have your hands full huh?" North whispered. "Yeah i was thinking of names for them." I whispered looking at them. "Well i brought a list of names from the nice list for you." He said.

"Thanks!" I said grabbing the paper he handed me. He soon left and I closed the door and looked at the list. I suddenly relised something from the past three months. "Astrid!" I whispered to myself. I knew i had to be crazy thinking that.
