Night // Chapter 8

Pigsy waited for your answer as he sat across from you in the living room.

"Pigsy! I wasn't doing anything! I just, couldn't sleep, that's all, I swear!" You rambled in a whisper yell, mindful to not alert the others.

"You may have gotten the others fooled, but you can't fool me, I know you're evil. So don't try anything funny, got that?" Pigsy whispered in an annoyed tone, his eyes narrowed.

"What? Pigsy, I didn't mean to get tangled up in all of this, I simply wish to return home when I regain my strength." You explained, looking hurt.

"Sure, like I'd believe anything you say, Y/N, if that's even your real name." He spat, raising his voice a little.

"Guys..? What're you two talking about..?" MK asked as he rubbed his eye, sitting up.

"MK!- I just-" You began, Pigsy cut you off.

"We we're just going back to bed, we couldn't sleep." He lied, laying back down, dismissing you and MK.

"Alright, whatever you say, Pigsy.." MK muttered, and as soon as his head hit the pillow he was out like a light.

You lay back down and drifted off to sleep, anxiety echoed in your dreams as you ran through the city of Megapolis, like something was following you.

In the morning, Pigsy made everyone a nice breakfast.

In the during of the delicious meal, Wukong closely watched you, analyzing your nervous body language and expression.

Over the next few days you spent with the gang at Wukong's home, occasionally helping with household chores as your strength slowly returned as the days passed.

Soon enough you'd have the power to get MK's staff, you had your nephew's gauntlet that he had used, so lifting it would be easy. But it hurt to think about betraying those who thought they could trust you, and trying to escape them when you leave.. that would really hurt more than anything, physically, at least...
