Narrator: Gordon was known as the fastest engine on sodor and the NWR, but ever since his retirement on pulling the express from knapford to barrow. Pip and Emma took over the express run services from knapford, to london. As for Gordon, he was assigned on loco services and his old express service from knapford to vicarstown. One morning in the sheds, Gordon was about to take his morning loco from knapford to kellsthorpe road. As he was starting up for the day, Percy returned from his mail run. He was tired, but wasn't exhausted during the night. He backed down aside Gordon while his crew went to the engine crew bunk house to get some rest.
Gordon: haven't seen you be this tired ever since one of those A2 prototypes i have met back in the early days. Surely you haven't any trouble during the night?
Percy: well, ran into a few problems, during the night i nearly had a near collision between another engine at vicarstown while i was heading back in the other direction, nearly derailed by some broken fences, and ran into a faulty signal and made me 5 minutes late. At least i still got the mail.. (yawn) delivered on time.
Gordon: anything else?
Percy: that's all of it. Except you said about a prototype of an A2 class. I never here'd any type of engine being built before.
Gordon: it's a long story, but if i have enough time to tell you about it, i could.
Narrator: just then, the formen came up to the 2 engines.
Formen: sorry to tell you this gordon, but the points to the line to knapford have been jammed after some of the stones from a goods train fell off and landed on parts of the switch, it won't take long to clean up the mess, but your gonna be here for a while.
Gordon: no worries sir, i can wait before my next train, my loco departs at 9. Speaking of which, what time is it?
Formen: it's 7:50 am, your train will be due out more than an hour.
Gordon: ok then.
Narrator: with that, the forement walk to his car, and head off to the harbor.
Gordon: Well percy, since I have plenty of time, i can tell you a story between me and the A2 prototype had back in the early days.
