Asuna POV:
I woke up on a certain Tuesday morning, got ready, woke a certain boy up and then went to school. Kazuto and I walked to school on the Tuesday of the swords tournament. I was kinda nervous since we are going to be showing are skills in front of thousands or ten thousands of people. Kazuto said he's slightly nervous since his family is going to be watching. I did tell him that he would be fine since he's so strong, but after I said that, he looked very gloom and bleak. I wonder why, he's so strong so his family shouldn't be a problem.
When we got to school, we saw Eugeo and Alice waiting outside for us. They wanted to go on the bus to the stadium together. After talking for about 5 minutes, we went to our form room and sat until our teacher came in. Mr Kyoshi walked in like he normally did and stood behind his desk.
"Students, you are all aware of the tournament that is happening today. Does anybody need anything before we go?" He asked. No response.
"Okay, 5 minutes and we will go outside and get on the bus. It is around a 45 minute bus ride and you will be able to sit anywhere you want." He explained. Me and the others already established that we will sit next to each other on the bus. The bus rows are only 2 seats across so we will have to be on different sides. Me and Kazuto on the right side, and Eugeo and Alice on the left side.
After the 5 minute timer ran out, Mr Kyoshi led us out of the school towards the bus lane. We boarded the bus and sat down. We were in the middle of the bus and it was a little cramped but that was okay. However, when I sat down, I realised something. Me and Kazuto were sitting in a bus next to each other, a tight space. Our knees would be touching. "Oh no!" I thought to myself. "This is gonna be so awkward." Just the thought of it made me blush, never mind it actually happening.
Mine and Kazuto's knees touched. However, we couldn't move them since our legs couldn't move about that much. We had to sit like that. I was blushing my ass off, covering my face and trying to hide it from Kazuto. It didn't work. I saw Kazuto blush a bit but he tried to make it seem okay, which would succeed over the journey. It gradually got less weird as the trip went on.
For around the first 10 minutes off the ride, we didn't talk much. Kazuto was listening to music and I was talking to Alice a lot. However, when I finished talking to Alice, I saw Kazuto look a little faint. He then leaned to the side on lightly hit his head on the window.
"Are you alright?!" I asked shocked. I had grabbed his arm to make it so he didn't fall and hurt himself.
"Yea, just a little tired." He replied, slightly stuttering in his response.
"Are you sure? You almost just fainted and you say it's because your tired?" I reply with concern.
"I also haven't eaten since I woke up so that's probably why." He added.
"Do you want one of my sandwiches?" I asked him, pointing at my bag.
"Only if you don't mind." He replied.
"Of course you can, I'm not gonna let you faint on a day like today." I reply a little uncalmly. I then reached into my bag and grabbed a sandwich.
"It's a jam sandwich, I hope you don't mind." I say rubbing my cheek.
"No it's fine, I like jam anyway." He replied with a gentle yet weak smile. I then gave him the sandwich that he proceeded to eat without any hesitation. Within two minutes, he was done with it.
"Thanks for that, I'll pay you back later." Kazuto said.
"You don't have to you know." I reply with honesty. I did it because he said that this tournament is important to him so I didn't want it to get ruined. And also that he's my crush.
"No I will, you deserve it." He said subtly. That made me blush a bit. Saying that I deserved something that wasn't bad made my heart flutter a bit. It wasn't normal for me.
"O-okay." I replied nervously.
After around 30 minutes, we arrived at the Japan National Stadium. It was so big that it made the statue of liberty look small. After getting checked in at the reception, we headed to the changing rooms where, of course, we got changed. We had to wear this specific clothing. It was a long black sleeved shirt with white in the body area. It also had a few red features around the arms and waist of us.
We all walked out into the stadium and looked around at everything. In the middle, there was stone platform for the fighters to fight on. Around, there were a few stands around, presumably for the teacher to monitor and control the fights. There were around 60,000 seats in the stadium and apparently it was booked full. There are going to be 100,000's or millions people watching us.
Around 5 minutes later, our headteacher came out and told us all to listen to him. He stood on one off the stands I mentioned earlier.
"Hello everyone, today is the day we've all been waiting for. The day where you can impress the world with your skills, better yourself and make new friends. This is ...
The biggest high-school fighting tournament in the world."
