Silence

Silence Part 6

Juno found herself to be in some sort of cage and tried to see how big it was. She eventually found the top of the cage, which wasn't that hard since the cage itself was pretty short. Owazaka came over to her, adorned a robe of some sort. "Let me out." Juno almost growled out, reaching for him. 

"Oh my dear Juno, if only you knew how much I wanted  you. Lusted for you even, but I let you marry that fool so this plan could come together." Juno reached out for him, almost grabbed the robe but Owazaka stepped back, grinning. "Take her away, I'm going to see if those incompetent fools have found my son and that girl yet." He turned away from the cage as his soldiers picked it up, carrying it back to her cell. 

"You won't get away with this, my daughter is smarter than you think." Owazaka stopped and chuckled. "Not that smart dear Juno, not that smart." He kept walking as Juno's face dropped in pure horror, screaming and trying to get out to save her daughter. 

In the forest....

Maika stared at Kanjiro still, not wanting to trust him after all of the things he did to her while she was trapped in that accursed place. After all, why should she trust him for following in his father's footsteps in torturing her and his mother. "Maika." Maika then snapped out of her small little trance, realizing that her ankle was still broken. 

"What do you want with me. You're probably going to give me back to your father and I might as well be killed right now along with my mother who also got dragged into this. We were so peaceful until this sacrifice put our own lives in danger as well as so many people who might die if we don't die." Kanjiro just silently listened as she said all this, standing up and walking over to her. 

She tried to back up but her broken ankle swelled up in pain as she did this, causing his face to darken in the shadow of the firelight. As he reached her, he would bend down and take her chin between her finger and his thumb. "You need to listen to me. I was only able to save you and not your mother for one reason. They could have killed your mother at any time if they realize that she was not part of the ritual. But she is a very big part of it and so you are, they need both of you. This will not work unless they have the both of you. So I kidnapped you because I do care deeply about you but your behavior is starting to make me think that you are ungrateful for me getting you out of there. Would you rather go back and be tortured? Until the sacrifice comes and you are brutally murdered?" 

Maika looked up at him but sighed softly as one hand rested on her ankle. "You understand that my mom and I were just normal people before this all happened. You basically became my father's dog and betrayed my trust. How can I even trust you after all that you have done to me?" Kanjiro sighed and sat next to her, putting a hand on her head. "We all have a part in this, whether we like it or no-" 

He suddenly paused, hearing something rustle outside on the cavern that they were staying in. "Stay quiet and do not move." Maika tried not to move as Kanjiro went to explore, but got more and more worried as the moments passed and he didn't return. "Kanjiro?" She tried to get up the best she could, leaning against the wall as leverage. 

"I see that you have gotten weaker, that's the best thing I could ever hope to see." The gruff yet angry voice suddenly made her flinch, Owazaka entering the cavern as it suddenly thundered outside. "You have made me a very unhappy man but Kanjiro was an idiot to bring you here, only so close to the village..." His voice got more and more quiet, slowly stepping closer to her. Maika tried to find a way out, only able to hobble out on her sprained ankle. 

"Do not try to run, if you do I will kill your mother right away." She stopped moving, only speaking in a cold tone. "Do you really need my mother? Or are you just lusting after her because you could not have her when you really wanted to?" Owazaka suddenly moved towards her with blinding speed, her head turned promptly to one side from the force of the slap. 

"You little bitch. I am going to have so much pleasure when you suffer so immensely and the pain etched into your face. It will make me glad that I have decided to wait so long for this wonderful feeling. " Maika could only turn her head to spit at him before his hands were around her throat, only cutting off enough air to make her pass out. And the scowl on his face was enough to give her a horrifying image before she fully blacked out....
