Iwoatae brought Maika's mother in and sat her on a chair. "So i heard that her husband was serving in a war and died suddenly." Owazaka nodded and said, "Some kind of strange illness he didnt tell anyone about apparently, just suffered and spent his last glory days in war." Maika's mom, Juno, struggled but guards were trying her wrists and ankles to the chair. "Why are you doing this to us? to me? to Maika?" Owazaka shook his head and walked over to Juno, cupping her chin with with his forefinger and thumb. "Oh poor Juno, you can't possibly fathom the amount of work that has to go into this ritual, if it is not done right, we are all cursed for a thousand years." Juno jerked her head away from his hand and hot tears started streaming down her face and wetting her blindfold. Iowatae saw this and slipped off the blindfold, wiping the tears away from her face. "Juno, we need you and your daughter to save us all, even though you die, you give a new meaning to sacrafice and grace." Iowatae shushed and patted her face. Juno looked confused, as to scream or just give in the shooshing and patting. Owazaka cut that short and told the guards to put her in the room where her daughter was. Owazaka also pinched a spot somewhere along her collar bone and she passed out.
......Maika woke up after what felt like hours. Her entire body felt sore and was aching, she also had a broken ankle, but decided that it could have been much worse. She heard someone come in and turned her head to the noise. She looked up and saw Daichi, her old childhood friend. Maika had little chance to react before he walked over to her, picked her up and threw her against the wall, smiling when he heard her broken ankle, break some more. Maika stifled a scream and slowly slumped to the ground, pain etching into her face. "Look at me." Daichi commanded in a cold voice, unlike the childhood friend that Maike had known for so long. Maika slowly raised up her head, looking straight at Daichi, with confusion, anger, and fear. Daichi chukled lightly and reached down, grabbing her broken ankle and touching it gently. Maika tried not to scream, the gentle touch was worsing the pain and she didnt want to admit it. Daichi twisted the hand that was holding the broken ankle and grinned as he saw Maika squirm and gasp with pain. He released her ankle and looked towards the door as someone else entered. It was Owazaka, clapping a hand on Daichi's shoulder. "Good Job son, it looks like she will adjust well here, along with another special guest." Maika thought about asking who the other guest was, but she decided the pain was too much and kept her mouth shut for now, ask questions later. Owazaka walked over to Maika and made her look at him. "You might as well get used to this, you are going to be here for a while, we don't have much time for the preparations, but we will get them done in time." Maika looked at him in question only to pass out from the pain and Owazaka and Daichi discussing something before her vision fully faded.
