"Ooh thanks for the info.
Makes more sense now"- Guest
I'm going to guess that you're the guest who was talking about Poseidon. If so, you're welcome, I didn't really say that he was mortal. My fault, really. And if you're not that guest, sorry for the mix-up, and can you please elaborate?
Alright, chapter time!
Chapter Five
Percy grunted as he was kneed in the gut. He almost dropped the sword he was holding.
"Gotta get used to it." Thalia said as she backpedaled. She raised her spear and readied her shield.
Percy raised his sword and lunged at Thalia. She blocked his strike with her shield. The impact made Percy's arm numb. She took his shock as an advantage and jabbed at him from underneath the shield with the spear.
Percy grunted and fell to the ground on all fours, his sword laying in the dirt next to him. He breathed heavily as he spit on the ground.
Thalia had woken him up at six in the morning, and brought him to the field where she had killed Luke. She had given him a quick lesson in swordsmanship, teaching him proper posture and technique. Then they had the practicing. For the past few hours, Thalia had been kicking his ass.
"You have to get used to the shock. And you have to be faster. Any hesitation makes you a dead man." Thalia explained.
Percy sat up on his knees and nodded. He panted as picked up his sword. Thalia sat across from him. She placed her spear and shield next to her. "Look. It might seem difficult, but this is all to help you survive. Can't have you dying on me now, can we?" She said, trying to raise the mood.
"I know, I know. Just not used to it. That's all."
Thalia reached out and patted his shoulder. She scooted over and placed herself next to him. "What time is it?" She asked him.
Percy pulled out his phone and turned it on. "Eleven forty-five."
"Tell you what, we'll take a break and go get lunch, then we'll come back and practice some more. Then we'll head back to the apartment, and do it all again tomorrow."
Percy groaned. "Fuck."
Thalia laughed.
"Where are we going to get lunch?"
"I want a burger. So somewhere that has those would be great."
"There's a Shake Shack nearby, Madison Garden."
Thalia stood up and offered him her hand. He took it and stood up. He turned Riptide back into a pen and slipped it into his pocket. Thalia did the same with her canister of mace.
Percy grabbed his skateboard and hopped onto it. Thalia ran beside him. "I seriously need to get one." She muttered.
It took them awhile to get to Madison Square Garden, but they did get there. The little building was near the middle. A line had formed outside. They got in line behind a family of seven.
"Who's paying?" Percy asked, realizing he left his wallet at home.
"I'll handle it, don't worry." She said, patting her pocket.
"Don't tell me you're going to threaten the person with a knife." Percy said.
Thalia acted like she had been shot in the heart. "You wound me. Why would you think I'd do that?" She reached into her pocket and pulled out a leather black wallet. "I'm going to pay."
