Chapter Six

A Week Later

Thalia had been Percy's nurse for the last week, and it was kind of weird. They both knew they were stalling the conversation about what happened in the bathroom. He wasn't sure why. He liked her, he was pretty sure she liked him, considering she was the one to initiate the kiss.

But in the the last week, between her redressing his wound and making sure he knew that she was extremely sorry for hitting him the head. No matter how many times he reassured her that he was fine, she would keep apologizing. But between that, they had been doing some things together.

For instance, he introduced her to Green Day, which she loved as soon as she heard 'Basket Case'. Percy would put a CD in the computer's disc player, and they'd just listen to it and vibe. She also had a taste for My Chem and Cage The Elephant.

She had also been staying at his apartment the entire time. "To make sure I'm there in case you need help." She had claimed. Percy let her use his bed while he used the couch in the living room. Why they had a couch, Percy had no idea, since it was just him and Chiron, and Chiron never got out of the wheelchair. But they had one, and he had been sleeping on it for the last week.

Thalia had cancelled all training until his cut healed, which had fully closed today. But Percy had a different idea for the day.

He entered his room. Thalia was laying on the bed.

"I want to go to the beach." He said.

"How's your cut?" She asked. "Salt water isn't going to help."

"It's completely closed up. You know this, you saw it earlier."

"I just want make sure." Thalia said. She got off of the bed and approached him. She placed her hands on the sides of his heads and stared at him softly. "I don't want you to die." She said softly.

"Because your life is tied to mine?"

"Yeah." She said, but there wasn't any conviction. She backed up.

     "So... the beach?" Percy asked.

     "I would, but I don't have a swimsuit."

"Okay, so we go to a store. Sumer just passed, they're in stock and on clearance."

"Alright then." Percy paused. "How do you not have one? If you've been watching over me for two years? I've been to the beach countless times."

"I never went in the water." Thalia said.

"You went to the beach, and never went into the water?" Percy said. "That sounds boring as fuck. You're coming into the water with me today."

LINE BREAK

They ended up at a Target. They walked in and went straight where to the woman's section, where, just like Percy had said, there were bathing suits in stock. And on clearance. Thalia looked through their selection judging each one.

She had sifted through each one, and Percy was losing hope that she would find one that she would like. At least, until she grinned triumphantly. She raised her arm, presenting the bikini she had a chosen. A simple black, triangle bikini.
