You walk in the class and sit down in your spot at the back and your music continues playing.
you listen to the same songs every day and they never seem to get old. should I stay or should I go by the clash was currently playing.

you were staring out the window

you saw some birds out on a branch

maybe it's just your imagination. they couldn't possibly be-

"ERIN!!"
you look back at the class to see everyone looking at you and miss click staring at you with a stern face.

"Erin take those off and pay attention. Can anyone tell Erin what I just said?"
You clicked off your music and slid your headphones to your neck

a hand raised
"Yes Tammy?"
"Miss Click was talking about the-"
her voice started to drown in your thoughts
"Teachers pet" you thought.

you rolled your eyes and kept staring at miss click with a fuck off kind of smile then miss click continued her lesson once Tammy was done talking. You didn't put your headphones back on but you clicked the music back on.

finally you were able to leave the hell hole of 1st period and went on to find a quiet space to stay till next period.

the day went on per usual, sitting in the back of the class not paying attention and then leaving class and off to the next one. school was so boring. Literally the highlight of your day was getting yelled at by miss click.

The last period finally ended and you got on your bike. Your current playing song was master of puppets. You loved how random your music taste was. You loved the song dream a little dream of me but also loved hard rock songs like master of puppets. You were about to start your way home when you heard your name.

"Erin?!?"
"Erinnnn???!!"

You are completely confused. Literally no one ever talks to you. You wait with your bike to see if the person calls again.

"Erin???!"
you turn to the voice and you see Nancy.
Nancy?? how though? Her voice sounds so different.

Nancy sees you and speed walks to you. You figured it out. Her voice was filled with excitement.
"ERIN!! You'll never believe what happened in my 3rd period!!"

You get off your bike and walk it next to you as you and Nancy start walking home.
You and Nancy were pretty close. Nancy's been changing since she started dating Steve but you love that you still have a sister to look up to.

When you and Nancy make it home you both head up to her room so you can lay on the floor and read her notes while she does some random Nancy thing.

Suddenly you hear a knock at the window. It makes you both jump.

You see Steve out the window with a sweet smile. Nancy opens the window. "Steve- what are you doing here?" She looks at you and then looks back at Steve.
" I missed you"
"I missed you too but my parents will hear you Steve."

Steve looks at you as you are now sitting cross cross on Nancy's floor. He looks up on her desk and stumbles in from the window.
"Steve-!!"

you back up as steve walks over and starts Nancy's radio. He then gets on Nancy's bed and you roll your eyes and take Nancy's notes and leave.

"Gross man" you thought. you walked to your room and turned on your music. You read Nancy's beautiful notes and took in as much as you could.

Soon you heard yelling downstairs and went to see the ruckus. You see dustin, Lucas and will laughing with Mike on the floor. Mike tripped on his shoelace coming up for a drink. You started giggling in the stairway. They grab some sodas and run back down to the basement.

You followed them down and Dustin laughed and said "HI ERIN!!" you waved and smiled. You walked over to the boys who were sitting and talking in the basement. Mikes campaign wasn't quite ready yet. You stayed for 20 minutes before leaving

You went to Nancy's room and knocked. To see if Steve left. The loud music was still playing. After about 30 seconds Nancy opened the door with her top untucked and wrinkled and her hair a mess. You saw Steve hiding behind the bed because his hair was visible from his hiding spot. She made a face at you and said "im busy Erin." and you gave her an eyebrow. She rolled her eyes and slammed the door.

"NO SLAMMING DOORS NANCY!! I KNOW THAT WAS YOU!"

you laughed as your mom yelled. busted bitch. You smiled and walked to you room. Your house was your only safe space. You were yourself here. Nancy was literally your best friend at this point.

You needed friends. It's not like you need a lot of friends but just someone other than Nancy. well theres always tomorrow. You laid down and started your music and fell asleep in your school clothes.
