Year 5

Another year came and went and it was already the 5th year he had known of Ellia's existence.

Their relationship had been growing as they had been becoming acquaintances.

Snape was quite happy about this of course.

As there relationship grew , she had normal conversations with him.

He had also gotten to see her the summer after 4th year.

He visited the Malfoy Manor to talk with Lucius, and she said hello.

She had gotten prettier over the summer.

Snape was ready for another year of classes with Ellia.

"Professor Snape?" Ellia said one day after class.

"Oh, hello, Ellia." He replied. "What do you need?"

"I was just wondering how you felt about Umbridge teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts. I know you really want the job, and I feel bad that you haven't been able to get it." She said.

"I don't like her, but it might be for the best that I don't teach it." He said with a soft smile. "I thank you for your concern."

"Just checking in on my favorite teacher." She said as she walked out the door, heading to her next class.

"See you later, Ellia." Snape called after her.

"See you later, professor." She called back.

What a sweet person.

"Excuse me, Ellia?" Snape asked after a potions class one day.

"Yes, Professor?" She answered.

"I heard that you got detention with Umbridge the other day. If you don't mind me asking, what for? Your a good kid." He said.

"I don't mind. I only stood up for Harry when Umbridge wouldn't hear him out." She said. "Harry got detention too."

"Oh, well, what was the detention?" He asked.

"We wrote lines with this weird quill that dug the words into your hand. It hurt pretty bad, but im okay." She said.

She got hurt.

"Can you show me?" He asked, his voice laced with concern.

She put her hand on his desk.

There were red scars saying,

I must not disrespect my authority.

"Are you sure your alright?" He asked.

"Yes, professor. I'm alright. It only stings a little." She said with a smile.

"Alright. Make sure you don't get another detention, we don't want your injuries to worsen or reopen." He told her.

"I'll try, but if Harry gets disrespected by Umbridge again, im going to stand up for him." She said.

"Alright. I have to go now, Ellia. I have a meeting." He said smiling at her.

"Okay. See ya, Professor." She said politely.

"Goodbye now." He said.

"Severus, come to my office immediately. And bring the Veritaserum." Umbridge demanded.

"Right away, headmistress." Snape said.

He started to walk towards her office.

He opened the door and saw an obscure scene.

Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, Ginny, and Ellia were being held back by Umbridges goons.

Harry was sat in a chair with Umbridge pointing her wand at his heart.

"Where is the Veritaserum, Severus?" She asked, that sense of fake politeness gone from her voice.

"You used the last of my supply on Cho Chang." He answered simply.

"Fine. Then I have no choice than to use my own ways." She said, a fierce look on her face. "Severus, you are free to go."

He took one last concerned look at Ellia.

He gave him a pleading look, but he could do nothing. It pained him.

He turned towards the door as he heard Ellia.

"They've got Padfoot in the place where its hidden!" She yelled at him.

He turned back towards her.

Her expression was urgent.

"Padfoot? The place where its hidden? Do you know what she is saying Severus?" Umbridge asked urgently.

"No idea." He said, his gaze lingering in Ellia only a moment longer.

He left the office and immediatly went to call the order to go to the Department of Mysteries.

No matter how much he despises Harry, he had to make sure he was safe.

For Lily.

"Ellia, are you alright?" Snape asked the girl at the end of the year.

"I'm okay, thank you." She answered, smiling lightly, though her eyes were brimmed with tears.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I would rather not talk about it." She said, closing the conversation.

"Alright. If you ever do, I'll listen." He said.

"Thank you, professor." She said.

Snape later found out that Cedric had broken up with her.

Though he was happy that they weren't dating anymore, he couldn't help but feel bad because of how sad Ellia was.

The end of the year came and everyone left Hogwarts.

Snape was excited for the next year...

But he was also anxious.

The news about Voldemort coming back had gotten out and he would have to go back to him if he didnt want to be killed.

Next year would be interesting.
