As Freddy was surrendering, more Police cars arrived and blocked in Maxi. Maxi sighed and tried to go forward, but was unsuccessful because bullets from an Officer's pistol were hitting the engine block. An Officer yelled at Maxi to turn off the car and surrender. Maxi spoke to Eli. "This is it. See you later." Maxi and Eli both got out of the car and surrendered. It was almost the exact same as when the Lestima house got raided back in the 1960s, except nowadays, the Police had better weapons. A week later, Eli, Maxi, and Freddy were all sitting in the NYC Courthouse, waiting for their punishments. At the end of it all, Eli was the only person that was handed a serious sentence, a sentence of five years. Maxi and Freddy had gotten off lightly with a one-hundred-thousand dollar fine each due to the jury not having enough evidence. Because Maxi was very broke, Freddy took care of his fine. For weeks after that, life went on normally. On a slow day in the casino, Maxi told Freddy to come to his office for a talk. Maxi spoke. "You know what? I love money. You know what I hate? Having my money taken away from me." Freddy thought about Maxi's words before speaking. "What do you propose we do?" Maxi replied. "We get rid of everyone who wins. Nothing hurts me more than seeing payouts for other people. That old system we had with Red Shirt, that is no longer. I've forgotten how to run it. Instead of us making money, we lose it." Freddy stood still, shocked at the proposal, stiff as a board. People yelled with joy from the casino lobby. That only meant one thing now: kill whoever won it. Maxi grabbed his beretta and walked into the lobby.
