Eli opened up the duffel bag and took out a box of nails and a hammer. Maxi looked at him and said, "What are you gonna do with that?" Eli replied with shivering words. "I'm gonna kill you slowly." Maxi was then lifted to his feet by Eli and pinned against the wall. Maxi had lost all of the strength in his upper body because his open wound was bleeding out, therefore he had no way to fight back. Eli picked up the hammer and a nail before staring down at Maxi and saying, "This is gonna feel real good." Maxi asked, "Why are you doing this?" Eli spoke. "You're a crook. Those people you've hurt, the lives you've changed, it all leads back to you. If I don't kill you, you won't make it out that door. Every peewee in town knows what you did, where you are, and where you live. You earned this." Eli then slammed a nail into Maxi's right wrist. Maxi screamed in pain before saying, "This is not what humanity should do." Eli snickered and said, "This isn't human, it's simple morality." Another nail went into Maxi's left wrist before another scream came and Maxi passed out. More nails went into Maxi's body, in his legs, arms, chest, and to finish it off, Eli hammered a nail into the forehead of the once-mighty mobster. Maxi had always escaped death one way or another. He paid his way out or killed whoever was going to kill him. This time was different. Death had finally caught up to Maxi, beating him in a race against time, locking him up forever, and throwing away the key.
