when nancy showed up to give robin and steve their lunch the next day, robin took a deep breath. "hey nance! steve told me you liked tom cruise, so i thought i would get us tickets to see top gun... is that cool? you don't have to come if you don't want to, i really should've asked before i bought the tickets-"

nancy listened to the girl ramble. she was adorable. she was so passionate about this, and she didn't have the heart to tell her that she didn't like tom cruise anymore. "nance?"

"huh? oh sorry, yeah i'll go to the movie with you." she gave robin a smile. robin smiled back in relief.

"alright lovebirds, break it up. nance, what'd you bring for us today?"

both girls blushed at what steve had said. "oh, it's just pb&j. nothing special. i made yours with crunchy peanut butter since that's what you like. rob, i made yours with creamy peanut butter because i felt that you wouldn't like crunchy."

"creamy peanut butter's my favorite! thanks nance!" robin and steve took their pb&j's and started to go outside to eat like they had been doing the past week. they talked about the kids, and how dustin was begging for them to go to hellfire tonight. steve was only going because if he didn't, dustin would beg him to come to every campaign after that. robin was going because she had nothing better to do and nancy was going because robin was going. other than that, they talked about how they were doing. when their lunch break was up, nancy helped robin up. "what time's the movie?"

"um, i think it's at 6."
"see you at 6 then." she waved and walked back to her car.

steve smirked. "you and nancy, huh?"

"what? no!" 

"you told me that you can't stop talking around your crushes, and you never stop talking when nance is around."
robin mentally cursed herself for telling him that. "wait, you aren't mad?"
"why would i be mad?" he asked as they walked back into the store.

"well, she's your ex. and i'm your best friend." 

"exactly. you're my best friend. that's why i'm not mad. i'm happy for you dude."
