when robin got off work, nancy came to pick her up. the taller girl looked confused as she saw the wheeler's car pull up. "i thought we were meeting up at six?..." 

"thought we could hang out for a bit until it's time to leave. i mean it's only 3:30, so we have time." robin smiled as the girl in the car explained. she opened the passenger side door and hopped in. as they both waved their goodbyes to steve, they started their way to the wheeler household. the ride there was quiet. when they arrived, they started their way to nancy's room. robin looked around, taking in the atmosphere. 

nancy sat down on her bed and gestured for robin to sit next to her. the taller girl sat down, fiddling with the rings on her fingers. 

"so...how was your day robin?"

"uh... it was good. i got stressed out at one point but other than that, yeah good. how was yours?"

"it was interesting to say the least. mike made me drop him off at dustin's house for something. he wouldn't tell me why. other than that, i just watched tv and ate leftovers."

the two gave small smiles and sat in a comfortable silence. it was now 4pm, so they still had two hours left. for the next hour they off and on made conversation. now it was 5:50, so they decided to get going. the car ride was just like the one on the way to the wheeler's house. quiet. the girls walked into the movie theater when they got there, and robin went to grab the tickets out of her pocket. nancy watched as the taller girl's eyes widened, and she frantically patted her pockets. 

"shit." she pulled her pockets inside out. "son of a bitch."
"robin? you okay?" 

"um i may or may have not uh..... lost the tickets-" robin sputtered quickly, triple checking her pockets. nancy gave a small smile.

"nance, i'm so sorry. this was supposed to be a cool movie da- hang out thing and i ruined it."

'did she say date?' nancy thought, tilting her head at robin. "robin. it's okay. we can just go back to my place and watch something. do you like the breakfast club?"
