"El could make us, like, super rich, and we'd never have to work. We could just play D&D and Nintendo for the rest of our lives." Will said with a slight smile, hoping to lighten the dark mood in the atmosphere.

"Yeah. Totally." Will hadn't expected Mike to agree.

"We're gonna make it Mike. She's gonna be okay. " Will reassured.

"Yeah. I know. I.. I know she is." Mikes tone of voice wasn't very convincing.

"But... But what if after all this is over, she... sh... she doesn't need me anymore?"

"No, o... of course she'll still need you. She'll always need you, Mike." Just like I do. Will didn't say that part out loud though.

"I keep telling myself that, but I... I don't believe it. I mean, she's special. She was born special" Mike had an expression on his face that made Will feel bad about this whole situation and how it was effecting Mike, he wishes he could do more.

"Maybe I was one of the first people to realize that. But the truth is, when I stumbled on her in the woods, she just needed someone. It's not fate. It's... It's not destiny. It's just simple dumb luck." How do I even... respond..

"And one day she's gonna realize I'm just some random nerd that got lucky that Superman landed on his doorstep. I mean, at least Lois Lane is an ace reporter for the Daily Planet, right? But..." Mike felt stupid for rambling on, he didn't think this conversation should've been about him. He scoffed, at himself, feeling as if he'd wasted Wills time with what he was going on about.

While he was deeply worried for El as a friend..

He was afraid of blowing his cover as well if he were to lose her as a girlfriend.

"Sorry. No. No, i... it's so stupid, given everything that's going on. It's just... I... I don't know, I just... Uh..." Mike couldn't find the right words, he didn't know how to save himself from pretending this hadn't ever happened, if anything, he was digging a larger hole for himself, but Will would've answered him as genuinely as he could, nonetheless.

"You're scared of losing her." ( tender, emotional music playing. )
"Can I show you something?"

As Will gripped tightly onto the rolled up painting in which was meant for Mike, he was nervous. He wasn't sure if Mike would like it, or catch on to what he was truly trying to convey by revealing what it was.
Will glanced back and forth between Mike and the painting itself, he felt that this was the only chance he'd get before their conversation was over with.

Will wanted to help, he really did. He cared for Mike, and Eleven so much, that making them happy was more important to him than his own feelings for Mike. Eleven was family to him at this point, and Mike.. well, Mike was Mike.

He hesitated, but eventually, grabbed it, handing it to Mike, full of many different emotions at once.
He saw Mike smile, in which Wills heart in return skipped a beat or two. Its been so long since he's seen Mike smile because of him specifically.

Will couldn't help but smile as well. He was happy Mike seemed to like it, so very happy.

"This is amazing. Did you paint this?" Mike was in awe, he had kept every single one of Wills drawings, always. Mike was proud of Will. He's had the chance to see Will grow and improve over the years, and it made him miss the old days a bit. Will drew Mike things way more back then, Mike had missed this.

Will was relieved to see Mikes positive reaction, this was enough to satisfy him, considering how his love was unrequited.

"Yeah. Yeah. I mean... I mean... I mean, El asked me to. She commissioned it, basically. I mean, she told me what to draw." Will played it off as such, however..
