I stood in the now empty alley way, my mouth slightly agape at what I just experienced. 'was it even real?' I smoothed out my dress before walking through the black high metal gate of the house and walked up the steps to the front door. The house was pretty big compared to my families and I wondered how my mother even met her, she was probably a frequent costumer at the Boutique.

A brunette well dressed woman answered the door and I assumed it was Aldantes's mother. "Rosaline! my darling how are you?" she said pulling me into a tight hug, I saw my mother standing in the hall with my father and who I assumed to be Aldante, looking smug as she saw me. 'This is going to be a long evening.'

-

We all had some tea in the drawing room, that was decorated like some royal castle, I felt almost to scared to touch anything. My mother and Aldante's mother, who's name was Amelia, mostly talked about the two of us when we where little, she acted so caring and sweet around this family it almost made me want to slap that fake smile off her face. I didn't contribute much to the conversation, I only spoke when spoken to or asked a question, but my mind kept going back to that man who saved me from those guards, he was so polite, and there's something about him I couldn't quite put my finger on, as I was thinking my eyes kept wondering off to a large bookcase I saw on the side of the room. I had never seen so many books in one place, I was so desperate to get over there.

We were all sat on green and gold sofas, me and Aldante on one, our mothers on the one opposite us and our fathers sat opposite each other on armchairs closest to their wife. "Peter." I said to Aldantes' father as he looked at me, "Would you mind if I had a look at those books over there?" I asked. "Of course not, our home is your home now sugar." I quietly stood up and rested my cup on the coffee table, and walked round the back of the sofa as I felt my mothers eyes on my as she knew what I was doing. Once I reached the shelf, I began looking through the story books or novels on teachings, and felt my mind fall into a whirlpool of excitement, I loved reading, I had a small collection of seven books at home and they were nothing compared to this.

As I was flicking through a book a hand leant on a shelf beside me. "What are you doing there love?" It was Aldante, he had dirty blond fully hair that covered the top of his forehead, he had green eyes and was dressed a suit with a waistcoat. He was attractive, but I still didn't know him. "I'm just looking at the books, I have a hobby of reading." I said closing the book I had in my hands. "An intelligent girl? I like it." Aldante said moving his body slightly closer to mine. before he could so anymore a maid came in saying that dinner had been prepared.

We all sat at the dining table, having finished our food and all had a glass of red wine in our hands. I was sat next to Aldante and opposite my father, and at the head of the table to my left was Peter. I only regained focus when I heard Amelia say "You two are just an adorable couple, and I never knew there was such a pretty girl like Rosaline in this town." she exclaimed.

I felt Aldante place his hand on my right knee and give it a gentle squeeze. "Yes, I believe I am the luckiest man in town to have her land on my doorstep." My body tensed up at his sudden movement, "Oh yes she's our pride and joy, she's such a hard worker and we love running the shop together as a team." my mother said gleefully but I couldn't stand all the shit coming out here mouth. I Thought about that blond man again and for some reason my mind felt at ease.

"Oh I just can't wait to have little children running about the house gain." I almost laughed at Amelia as she said that. 'Children! plural! that man would be lucky if he even got one child out of me.'

"Me and Amelia have just missed the energy of little ones in the house." Peter laughed. 'They just don't shut up.' I thought to myself, do they really just see me as an opportunity to get grandkids. "Aldante, wasn't there something you wanted to ask Rosaline?" His mother said almost prompting him as the table went quiet. 'oh go what now?' I saw Aldante swallow before turning in his chair to face me. I moved my legs towards him while shifting my body to face him.
