A/N: I forgot to mention in the warnings, major sadness ahead.

Thalia, Calypso, and Leo were siting in a tree, when the anthem went on. It startled Thalia so much that she almost dropped the rabbit Leo's snares had caught. The night was eerily dark, with no stars or a moon, courtesy of the game makers. Only three faces flashed in the sky. Grover, Kayla, and Drew. The three Tributes continued sharing their rabbit.

" What's it like in District 3?" Leo asked Thalia. Thalia thought for a minute.

" Pretty difficult. I specialized in electricity and wiring. I've gotten shocked so many times. I have electrical burns all over my hands." Thalia showed her scars in the firelight. "I would say it doesn't hurt as much when you do it because your used to it, but I would be lying. It hurts like hell." Thalia joked.

" I never thought the Techies had it so bad." Calypso said.

" You can barely breathe the air. I never smelled cleaner air before I came to the Capitol." Thalia said.

" District 12 is pretty gross. I wasn't cleaner than when I went to the Parade. I had coal dust where coal dust should never be." Leo shuttered. Thalia playfully pushed him.

" Why too much information, Leo." Calypso said. Leo rolled his eyes. Soon the rabbit was finished and the left overs were placed in a small container in Calypso's backpack. They each talked about their Districts for a little while longer before putting their fire out and agreeing to go to bed.

" I'll take first watch." Thalia said. Leo and Calypso laid down and went to sleep. Thalia almost felt bad for what she's about to do. She carefully pulled Calypso's backpack and put it on her back. She took the explosives she had gotten in the Cornucopia and carefully placed them inside. She left Leo's snares alone since she had no idea on how to set those up. She picked up her spear and Calypso's knives and walked into the trees.

She walked silently across the ground until she saw firelight. Charles Beckendorf was roasting a dark green squirl over a fire. At least the rabbit was a similar color to what it's supposed to look like. Thalia thought. The rabbit they caught was a light yellow.

Thalia removed one of the explosives from her back pack. She was in here to win, no matter what the cost. She discreetly rolled the grenade to the fire. It had a detonator so she could get to safety.

She crawled through the bushes until she was a few miles away from his camp. It took a few hours. The bright yellow sun was rising quickly. She found a log and hit behind it. She pressed her thumb to the detonator, not enough to set it off yet. Thalia took a few deep breaths and pressed her finger down hard. A loud BOOM echoed through the arena, followed immediately after with a blast of a cannon. Thalia did it. She killed Charles Beckendorf, a boy from District 7. Thalia wanted more than nothing to curl up and sob, but she pushed that feeling down. Self pity and sadness only got you killed. Thalia would stop at nothing to make sure that didn't happen. She tried hard not to think of the family grieving for their lost child. A child she robbed of life.

Thalia looked up at a particularly tall tree. She debated climbing it and falling asleep, she wasn't able to get any the night before, but she vetoed that. She would be left out in the open with no guaranty that a Tribute wouldn't see her in the artificial daylight and kill her. She's worked on less in her District. She'll wait until tonight. Thalia heard a soft beep from above her. A floating parachute dropped from the sky. In it was a bottle of Iodine. Perfect. Thalia thought. She had thought she heard the trickle of a stream a half mile back. She hiked and found a crystal clear stream. She filled an empty water bottle up and dropped some Iodine in it and waited for it to purify. She took a small sip from it and climbed a tree to rest. She was right above the stream, so if any Tribute walked by she could surprise them and maybe drown them. Thalia was sitting in her tree when she heard a canon go off. She wondered who it was. She'll find out tonight. She hopes it's one of the Careers. That would make her job much easier.

A/n: Who do you think that canon was? You'll find out next chapter!
