Ban and Elaine finished packing their bags and by this point it was already past mid-day. Ban stood up and held a hand out to Elaine. She grabbed his hand and stood up. She brushed her dress off and followed Ban out of the room. They went down stairs to where the group of people were and were met with looks of confusion from Elizabeth, Hawk, and Escanor. Meliodas just shook his head.

"Where are you going Sir Ban, Miss Elaine?" Elizabeth asked with a tilt of her head as she put the glass she was cleaning down.

"We are going after my brother, Princess." Elaine said as she floated next to Ban. Ban shifted his shoulder and the bags hiked farther up his shoulder.

"Can I talk to you Cap'n?" Ban said as he nodded his head towards the door. Meliodas jumped over the bar top and walked over to where Ban stood. "Say your goodbyes Elaine. We're leaving right after."

Elaine nodded her head and floated up to Diane and Elizabeth. She began saying her goodbyes as Ban and Meliodas started to head towards the door.

"WAAAAAIIIITTTT!!!!" Hawk sequeled as he ran towards Ban. "IF YOU LEAVE WHOS GONNA FEED ME GOOD SCRAPS!?????!!!?!!!"

The pig held onto Ban's leg and cried snot coming out of his nose. Ban shook his leg and frowned.

"You'll be fine, Lord Pig. You did just fine before I showed up." Ban said with a monotonous voice. Gowther tilted his head to the side with a confused look he was unsure of what was going on now. Ban used to be really friendly with the pig but at the moment he was being cold.

Ban turned back to the door leaving a shocked Hawk on the floor. As Meliodas opened the door and stepped out Ban was right behind him. They stood on the porch of the Boar Hat and looked out at the lowering sun.

"So what's up Ban? Why the sudden change of mind?" Meliodas asked his hands in his pockets. He stared at Ban and raised an eyebrow.

"That Rye guy is dangerous... I can't leave King alone with him." Ban said, looking at the horizon.

"You know King left to get away from you, right?" Meliodas said and kicked a rock with the toe of his shoe.

"Yeah I figured as much..." Ban muttered looking to the side. He fidgeted uncomfortably as Meliodas stared at him.

"What's going on with you? You're acting like you're under a spell when it regards King. If you're not angry you're acting love sick, like no one can have him. Are you in love with King?" Meliodas asked. He could hear the girls in the Tavern talking and glanced back at Ban. Ban was silent for a long while.

"No. I'm just trying to protect him." Ban said softly so no one would hear him in the tavern.

"Well if that's true you better figure things out before you hurt Elaine and King any more then you already have..." Meliodas said and pat Ban on the back. Band scratched his head.

"It may be too late for that.." He muttered lowly. Meliodas shrugged his shoulders and sighed.

"Then youll just have to figure it out and fix it with all parties, and beg for forgiveness." Meliodas said back and smiled. Ban nodded his head and sighed.

"Did King tell you anything before he left?" Ban asked as he heard the door open. Elaine floated out of the door and stopped next to Ban.

"Yes. He said they were gonna stay in the town at the bottom of the hill past the forest, for the night before they move on. If your gonna catch up with them your best bet is there." Meliodas said, pointing into the distance that Ban had seen Rye disappear into. Ban nodded.

"Thanks, see you later Cap'n." Ban said before scoping Elaine up into his arm and suddenly taking off. Elaine squeaked, not expecting Ban to take off so fast. The sun was already setting and if they wanted to make it there before they lost them they needed to move quickly. Ban ran and ran, jumping over tree roots and ducking under branches. And before they knew it they were already standing outside the town. Elaine's hair was wind whipped and all over as she clung to Ban.

She breathed heavily as she looked at the town lit by fire lamps since the sun had gone down. The town was bustling with people as they seemed to be celebrating something, they even had a night market. The stalls light by fire lamps. Ban put her down and straightened out her hair for her as she smiled and said a small thank you. Ban grabbed her hand and pushed through the crowd of people and looked all over for the two people he was looking for. They pushed their way to the center of the town where the music was loudest and stopped in the clearing. Bans eyes darted around the clearing looking for the duo. He didn't see them anywhere, but he could feel King's magic. Suddenly Elaine tugged on his sleeve. He looked at her and followed where her finger was pointing.

King and Rye were dancing in the middle of the clearing surrounded by others. Ban's eyes went wide and he bit his lip again for a third time that day. Glowing around King's neck was a necklace the color of Rye's eyes.

'He must have gotten that for him because it matches his eyes!' Ban silently fumed in his mind, he thought. Suddenly the music started to die down and all the dancers started to slow and stop. King and Rye started to walk towards the edge of the circle. Suddenly Elaine called out.

"Brother!"

Ban quickly clasped a hand on her mouth and pulled her back into the crowd. King looked in the direction of the voice but saw no one so he shrugged and went back to talking with Rye.

"Ssshhh.." Ban said and let go of Elaine. She gasped frowning at Ban.

"What was that for?!" She asked as she put her hands on her hips and stared at Ban; he rubbed a hand on his forehead as he crouched and sighed.

"He can't know we're following them!" Ban said back.

"Why not??" She asked, puzzled.

"Meliodas told me King left to get away from me." Ban said. "So we have to follow him in secret."

'More secrets?' Elaine thought.
