It's been a few months since teams and chunnin exams were in a couple days days and to say Gaara was excited (yay finally gaara!!!)
All these years he grew to miss naruto more and more, sure his father adopted kids to help him but they weren't naruto, they weren't his naruto.
He had a older sister named temari and an older brother named konkuro, and although they were nice from time to time they were complete idiots and didn't know when to stop talking.
His siblings didn't know about naruto, he never told them he thought if he kept talking about the blonde he missed he'd probably start crying and that'll be very embarrassing.
"Well I have good news for you gaara, we're taking the chunnin exams in the leaf village" rasa said smiling from ear to ear.
"What's in the leaf that's so important to gaara?" konkuro asked kinda confused.
"When are we leaving?" Gaara asked hiding his excitement.
"Tonight"
Gaara nodded and quickly started packing, he was happy after all these years he was able to see naruto again, he started believing he was never gonna be able to see the blonde after so long.
(Time skip to when they started leaving)
After they started on their trail gaara couldn't hide the sparkles in his eyes, temari and konkuro have never seen gaara, happy ever and they were pretty freaked out.
That was until konkuro seen a picture on the side of gaara's bag he quietly grabbed it and temari was about to yell at him but he covered her mouth and showed her the picture.
It was a young gaara and another kid they didn't know he had blonde hair, blue eyes with 3 whiskers on each side of his cheeks.
They were so happy

"Gaara, who's the blondie?" Konkuro asked.
Temari smacked the back of his head "you idiot, what's the point of being sneaky about it if you're going to basically blurt out that you took his thing!!".
Gaara grabbed it angrily, stuffed it back in his bag and continued walking "none of your business, next time you steal my stuff i'll steal your kidneys in your sleep".
Konkuro shivered and paled looking like he saw a ghost.
"Oh c'mon gaara, let's just tell them they'll find out afterwards anyways" rasa said.
"Tch, fine"
"His name is naruto, he is gaara's soulmate/mate, they were separated when I had to go back to the sand village" rasa said with a smile.
