(This is only a short filler chapter; I will do a proper one after I hit the others first. Also, the image was taken from the "All World's Alliance Wiki," likely a screenshot form the show so primary credit to Infinite Stratos' creators.)
I never registered for a partner, but I did see I was paired with one. Kiyoka Akiawa was to be my partner. This was interesting to say the least. She was one of the many representative contenders here who did not have their own personal IS so she would be using one of the academies IS's.
Kiyoka: Ummm... I hope you're not disappointed in having me as your partner.
(Y/N): Why would I be disappointed?
Kiyoka: Because...
(Y/N): Because you don't have your own personal IS Unit.
She only nodded to which I reached over and patted her head. In response to this she let out a cute yelp, and her face turned beet red.
(Y/N): That doesn't bother me at all. Sure, personal IS Units are cool and all, but what comes down to it is the pilot using it.
She turned to look at me.
(Y/N): We won't lose, as long as you haven't given up. Have you?
She then gave me a look of determination.
Kiyoka: No! We will win this thing!
I smiled as she took off. She was probably going to study. I will admit since we are unable to practice in the arena I won't be able to get a grasp of her fighting style. Before I could think on this further I saw her running back here.
Kiyoka: Ummm... I just remembered we can't practice in the arena.
(Y/N): Well how about we get some lunch? We can chat and figure out how were gonna work together for the tournament?
Kiyoka was blushing but she nodded her head happily as we went to the cafeteria. We sat together and began discussing things.
(Y/N): I remember you are part of the handball club right?
Kiyoka: You remembered?
(Y/N): Of course. If I'm correct with handball, that involves hand-eye coordination, fast reflexes, and a decent agility?
Kiyoka: Oh yeah! I've been playing for a few years now!
(Y/N): You also said you enjoy jogging right?
Kiyoka: uh-huh.
(Y/N): Then you should have decent endurance. I think we'll work fantastically together partner!
She was blushing but smiling brightly at me. I will admit she did look cute. Especially with that little ribbon in her hair. Though our talk about tournament strategies kind of devolved into just talking about ourselves.
