Lost on You (The last of us)

Patrol

I woke up a little sleepy. I got out of bed rubbing my eyes and went straight to the bathroom yawning, I took a long warm shower to prepare myself more, right after I got dressed and took my backpack along with my belongings, I put on my sneakers leaving my dorm and going to check if there was any chores to do. Jesse warned me yesterday morning that he'd need a helping hand at the stable today, I'll probably go on patrol, so I was heading towards the stable to see what he had planned.

Entering through the front door of the Stable, I saw Jesse and Joel talking, then they saw me:

- Good morning (Y/N) did you sleep well last night? - Asked Joel patiently and with a slight smile.

- Good morning Joel, yeah... Not bad but I think so - I replied - So Jesse, what would you like me to help you with?

- You will patrol with Joel today, all right? Tommy is in a meeting.

- Sure, no problem ! - I liked Joel, he's a good man, although they told me about a dark past he hid, they told me he was once a hunter or something, I don't really know what happened, but maybe it's just a stupid rumor , he doesn't look like he would hurt anyone on purpose...

- Did you drink coffee? - Asked Joel offering the hot drink that was in a thermos next to him - We can have it before we go, I already had it but I can wait for you!

- No it's not okay, I'm not hungry yet.

- So take cookies with tou - Jesse gave me a bag full of cookies and two lunches, mine and Joel.

- Thank you Jesse! - I gave a small smile - Well, shall we?

Jesse took Joel's and mine's horses, ready for patrol, and handed them over to us... With us already assembled. He always left a message before any patrols, for security reasons.

- Good luck guys, take care, you know about the snow storms that have been happening lately... so be prepared for something, if you don't realize it, come back! OK !? ready?

-We are!

Then Jesse nodded and whistled, the watchmen opened the big city gate and we rode out of Jackson on horseback...

Me and Joel went around to the lookout post, marked our names in the notebook and also that the area was clean after watching... We had lunch, and a while later we passed in some places that we needed to patrol... at the end of the way, we stopped to scouring some stores to try to find some supplies.

- Did Joel find anything?

- Nothing and you?

- Anything! Damn what the fuck.

I was looking at the stores around and one in particular caught my attention. I got closer to get a better look... and deduced it was a music store. Looking deeper, there were some instruments, Joel noticing my curiosity came to me:

- Look at these Taylors, it cost a fortune before all this happened!

- Taylor? - I asked not knowing what it was.

- These guitars, Taylor was a very expensive brand, but it was the best! Joel reached for a black guitar and lightly brushed his hand clean of dust.

- Wow! he is really very handsome. - I admired the instrument impressed - Too bad I don't know how to play.

- Why don't you take it and ask Ellie to teach you? She knows how to play!

- Well, not a bad idea! - I took the same from Joel's hand, I really always wanted to learn to play an instrument, but as Ellie and I didn't talk to each other anymore, I don't know if I would ever learn.
