'"BEEP BEEP BEEP" my alarm rang. I groaned shutting off the alarm. This was the first day of school after winter break. I looked at the clock and it said 7:30. I have 30 more minutes until I have to go to school. I sighed and got up out of bed. I randomly thought about Jax. Out of all the cute boys in high school, why do I have to like Jax? Don't get me wrong, I mean he is pretty hot and sexy with his toned 6-pack.
I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and tried to control my crazy, frizzy hair. I put on a black and white striped t-shirt and some dark skinny jeans. I went downstairs to eat breakfast. My mom isn't home because she works a lot. She's a doctor and works every single day of the week, I don't mind though. My dad died when I was 7 and I was with him when he died. I was beginning to tear up so I shook off the thought of him.
I poured out Lucky Charms in a bowl and poured milk. I ate quickly and grabbed my car keys. I grabbed my leather jacket that my mom got me for Christmas and put it on. It is one of my best prized possessions. I grabbed my backpack and slung it over my shoulder. I put on my socks and put on my ugg boots and went out the door. I went in to my driveway and opened my car door. I had a Toyota Camry that I got for my 16th birthday. It's sleek black with a GPS, a GPS is all I need because I get damn lost when driving to Chipotle.
I texted my friend Arabella saying that I'm coming over to her house. Arabella doesn't have a car which is surprising because her parents are CEOs but they work for different companies.
I came over to her house and honked my horn and waited patiently in my car. She came out looking fabulous. She looks like she could be on the cover of Vogue Magazine. I secretly get jealous of how pretty she looks, she has boys falling to her feet. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against her or anything, I look like a camel compared to her. I love her to death though, she's like my sister that I never had.
She went in the car looking happy and excited.
"Why are you so happy?" I grumbled.
"It's the first day of school! Duh, Aren't you excited?" She said sounding giddy.
"Yeah, that's exactly why you shouldn't be happy, I would rather just sit on the couch eating chips and watching Netflix." I said.
"I would love to sit on the couch and be a lazy ass but I need to go out and socialize." She said.
"Ok, Whatever you say." I said rolling my eyes.
I drove off her driveway and began to make my way to school. I turned on the radio and the song, "I Really Like You By Carly Rae Jepsen" came on. I hate that song because it's annoying as fuck but it's really catchy. It just keeps on saying "I really really really really really like you." I get it, you like him enough to say "really" 6 times in a row.
When I finally got to the school, I pulled up in the parking lot and turned off my engine. I got out of the car and walked in the doors with Arabella in front of me. Everybody stopped talking and looked at us.
They all began to clamor around Arabella and me like we were famous. I wasn't exactly a nobody but I wasn't "Arabella Popular" either. Arabella is super popular and I'm just her best friend who stands there by her side. Everyone was asking questions like, "How was your winter break?" "Are you involved with anybody?"
They sounded a lot like reporters. I slowly backed away and Arabella noticed and shot me a "I'm Sorry" glance. I nodded my head in approval saying it was okay.
I sighed and thought to myself, "This is what it feels like to be a senior." "And it feels crappy." I walked to the my locker and saw Jax leaning on it. He saw me and shot me a smile. I smiled back and he started walking towards me. I began to have butterflies but remained calm.
