It was pitch black in my dream. I could see nothing. Not even my hand when I put it in front of my face. Suddenly I heard a voice. It was the voice I dreaded. It was old and raspy. The same voice that had spoken from my mothers' mouth. 'Hello again' it said. 'Leave me alone' I shouted. 'I won't go now. I just arrived.' The voice sounded amused. 'Let's talk about what you can do for me' it said. 'Give me a body. A strong healthy body.' It commanded. 'No!' I shouted. 'No? I'll have to do it the hard way then' said the voice and then laughed. 'I know where you are' it said. I was shivering. I felt as if I was lying in ice cold water and just as I thought I would die of the cold I felt a sharp poke and woke up.
Amy was standing over me. 'WAKE UP!!!' she shouted. 'You sleep like the dead. I nudged you, pushed you, slapped you and you still wouldn't wake up' said Amy. That's why my cheek hurt. I got up shivering as I thought of my dream. I wasn't cold when I woke up but my fingers were turning blue. 'We better get going. I want to introduce you to some people and eat breakfast and we have to register you into the institute' said Amy. 'This is an institute?' I asked. I had just realised that I had no idea where I was. 'Yep. The teachers call it an institute but I think it's more of a giant workshop. You get a new schedule every day.' Amy showed me a piece of paper with bar code at the bottom of the page. 'Come on' said Amy. She opened the door to a corridor full of girls of all ages. I followed her through the door and heard the door lock behind us. The corridor was long and white. There were lots of doors with numbers on them. Some doors were open to reveal a bedroom. 'I hate leaving this late. It's always so busy' complained Amy. Without hesitation, she started elbowing her way through the crowd. A lot of girls shot her angry glares but didn't say anything when they saw that it was Amy that was elbowing them. 'Why are there only girls here?' I asked. 'That's because I chose my bedroom in an only girl corridor' explained Amy as she elbowed an eleven year old girl out of the way. Finally we got out of that corridor and came into another one. This one had big windows on the left side. I gasped as I looked outside. The institute was in the sky! I recognised the city under me. It was London. We were so high up that the buildings were the size of postage stamps and the people were just moving dots. 'What?' asked Amy. She had already reached the end of the corridor. 'Oh, you're probably amazed that we're in the sky' said Amy. I nodded. 'The air Halflings make this giant solid barrier under the building. There are also at least a ton of protective enchantments' said Amy. 'Come on' she pushed me and I started walking again but was still amazed at the sight under me. It was amazing. I had always dreamed of flying and looking at everything from high up in the air. Amy and I had arrived at a giant hall. It was the size of a cathedral. Boys and girls were eating here and making a lot of noise and mess. The floor was wooden and there were lots of tables. The tables next the walls were piled with food. I had never seen so much food in my entire life. There were different kinds of cereal, bread, jams, sausages, scrambled eggs, toast, eggs, croissants and much more. Amy strode to one of the tables, grabbed a plate and began piling sausages onto her plate. I just realised that I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday morning. I grabbed a plate too and chose two different kinds of croissants. I looked around when I realised that Amy was no longer at the tables with food. I spotted her sitting and talking to two girls. I walked up to her looking at the them. One had short light brown hair and hazel eyes. The other girl had longer hair than the other girl but it was still short and brown and had green eyes. They all stopped talking when I sat next to them and stared at me.
A/N: Hi people! What do you think of the story so far? What do you think will happen next? What do you think of Amy? I'm having a mini writers block:/ I'm not sure what I should write next. Do you have any ideas?
