It was a scorching summer afternoon in the bustling town of Danville. Phineas and Ferb Flynn Fletcher, the dynamic stepbrother duo, found themselves in their expansive backyard alongside their lovably quirky pet platypus, Perry, ready to embark on another day of boundless creativity and invention.

Renowned throughout the town for their extraordinary inventions, the two brothers were known to craft elaborate and imaginative gadgets, captivating the attention of themselves and the entire community, especially during the long summer vacation. Their escapades often led them on exhilarating excursions and adventures while being covertly observed by their older sister, Candace, who perpetually attempted to expose their activities to their unsuspecting parents.

Today, as they mused over their latest project, they found themselves at a crossroads, torn between three ambitious ideas: creating fully immersive VR headsets, organising a Valentine's fair, or assembling a Spring Fair. These concepts, while bordering on the fantastical and impractical, had never deterred them before. Uncharacteristically, they were trapped in indecision.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the boys, Candace peered at them from her bedroom window, diligently spying on their every move through a pair of binoculars, her determination to unveil their grand undertaking unwavering. Despite her emotional efforts, she couldn't help but sense a deep-seated foreboding, recognising that some things may never change.

"Let's bring it to a vote," Phineas said eventually.

"All in favour of the VR Headset?"

No one's hands raised.

"What about the Spring Fair?"
Phineas' hand shot up but was surprised that Ferb didn't, meaning the Vale Fair was by a landslide.
The boy was confused. They almost agreed on everything, and now it seems like the green-haired boy has his heart set on something else. Then again, he was the one who convinced him to add this to the roster, despite Phineas being otherwise opposed to it.

He shrugged.
"Alright, Ferb. The Valentine's Fair it is. However, I have to ask, what came about with this idea? Doesn't seem us."
Ferb blinked.
"You're right. It's about time we switch things up." He slipped back to his chipper attitude.
"Ferb, I know what we're going to do today...hey, where's Perry?"

They got to work at once, seemingly alone before Buford and Baljieet spontaneously pitched in. At the same time, Candace had her fingers hovering over the phone she was clutching, eyes narrowing intensely.

Soon, the backyard was transformed into a Valentine-themed fair.

"We outdid ourselves this time, Ferb," Phineas said. He had a hard hat on. He turned to him.
"Like, I'm pretty sure the last time we did something like this was the romantic mega cruise we did for Baljeet."
He turned to Baljeet.
"How about it, Baljeet? Still friends?"
Baljeet sighed contently. "Yes. And I won't have it any other way."
Buford howled, belittling him.
"What's so funny?"
"Oh, nothing. It's just what single people like you say to make yourself feel better."
"You're single, too."
"Yeah, but I'm proud of it. You'll never see me get all lovey-dovey like some girly girl."
"Ahem." Came a voice that was all too familiar.
Buford turned around to see Isabella glaring at him nastily from behind.
"Urm, no offence?"
The girl huffed before changing her entire demeanour when approaching Phineas. She was later than usual, but that was because she had to comb her waist-length raven hair meticulously.

"Hey, Phineas!" she chirped. "Whatcha doin'?"
"Oh, hi, Isabella," Phineas waved.
"In case you haven't noticed, we've built a giant Valentine fair."
"Oh wow!" she clasped her hands together, clearly astonished. But then it changed from a look of confusion.
"Wait...you made this?"
"Well, it's sort of Ferb's idea," Phineas gestured to the silent boy.
"Ah." Isabella understood, although she couldn't shake a sense of disappointment.
