Zephren, Rimis, and Celia are having dinner. Unlike the cheerful atmosphere when Zephren woke up this morning, the mood right now is quite tense. Rimis fake coughs to get everyone's attention.

"With a skill like Surface Control, it'll be easy for a mage to take distance and utilize long range attacks. Furthermore, he can do widespread attacks without the risk of hurting himself."

"Rimis Zolunder, my dear." Celia can't listen to Rimis' mage propaganda any longer. "Surface Control allows a knight to easily maneuver around opponents. Did you happen to forget that the main advantage of knights over mages is maneuverability? I think Little Zeph should focus on taking advantage of his strengths."

Ever since Zephren has awakened his sensibilities, his parents frequently argue with each other about the strengths and weaknesses of the mage and knight class. They also try to show off their abilities as much as they can. Whether it is cooking, brewing coffee, or moving furniture around, Rimis would use his magic to show how he can do daily tasks easily. Celia would scoff at Rimis saying, "What's the point of using magic to do what their servants do." She would bring Zephren to the training ground to show off.

Despite his parents' bias towards a specific class, they never try to pressure Zephren on what to choose. They only show off and spew exaggerated propaganda. Despite their exaggeration, Zephren still ends up learning quite a bit.

First time awakeners can choose from two basic classes: mage or knight. They make their choice by investing Pts into either Mp or Str. A mage invests in Mp while a knight invests in Str. Once the Mp/Str reaches 10, the mage/knight goes through another awakening. During each awakening, they'll gain a new skill and evolve their class.

Zephren can't trust his parent's claims so he goes to their family library to learn more. His parents are strict with his education and he can already read books at the age of 4. He looks for any books with information about mages and knights.

The knight class has high maneuverability. High Str stat allows more mana to flow into the body. This gives intuitive movements allowing swifter and more agile attacks because the main attacks are simply strikes using the body, unlike mages who have to cast spells.

Another advantage is mana intensity. As the knights' Str stat grows, the body can harness more mana. However, the Str stat doesn't grow the body. Knights will have to naturally learn how to concentrate their growing mana into their body.

Zephren has decided on his class. He will become a mage.
