Here's nothing.Right when I thought my life was all roses and cherries. Fate just had to screw me over. Five days ago, I came back home after I went out with Leo. All I heard was screaming, shouting, sobs, and a whole lot of swear words. My parents were fighting. Which shocked me because my parents always agree on everything.
I assumed they would get back to their normal selves in the morning.
But they didn't. The fighting was continuous.
This is the sixth day. And I've had enough.
I need to know why they're fighting and try to solve it. It's the least I can do as a daughter.
I rolled over my bed and got off, my Saturday evening not going well thanks to the fighting.
I go down the stairs and walk to the kitchen, where my dad and my mom stood opposite to each other."Melissa, just listen-"
"NO! I can't take this anymore! How dare you do this to me, Andrew?!" My mom yelled, not noticing my presence as she gripped onto a fork. The fork eventually bent, and I was taken aback. If you ever see my mom bend anything, it's a 911 situation. I quickly jumped in before anything severe happened.
"Mom, mom, mom. Calm down" I said, hands on her shoulder. She looked at me and sighed. She put the bent fork down and slumped her shoulders."What's going on?" I mouthed to my dad, he shrugged in response.
"Tell her, Andrew" she said, hand on her hip.
My father sighed, running his fingers through his salt and pepper hair.
"We were supposed to go out, the night Nyla came to you. But i called it off saying I had work" I noticed my mom roll her eyes. I nodded for him to continue"And I did have work! I had a meeting with people from the opposing company and your mom so happened to see me talking in private with a female co worker. But I swear on my mothers grave, we weren't talking about anything other than work" he explained.
"Lena, you believe me right? You know, my love for your mother is eternal" he said, his eyes filled with hope.I do. I do believe him. I know my father way more than he knows himself, and he wouldn't. He wouldn't cheat on my mom, whenever I was alone with my dad. All he did was babble about how they met when they were my age.
There's no way he'd be unfaithful."Mom, maybe you're just para-"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" She yelled, startling me.
"Mom-"
"Don't mom me, you traitor. I gave birth to you not him! My side is the one you should be taking" she screamed. I was, once again, taken aback. Before I could even mutter a word, she threw A few plates on the floor, shattering it in the process. I backed away, ending up next to my dad. She continued to break plates and cups and I couldn't help but cry. I've never seen my mom this distressed. She was always that happy person, and I've always made her proud.
After a few minutes of smashing and breaking, my mom simply walked out. Expressionless.
We stared at the glass filled floor in horror. I was speechless. I glanced at my dad, who had his hand over his mouth in frustration. He stormed off, leaving me alone with the shattered glass.
I leaned against the wall and slid to the floor. Is my family falling apart?
*************
My moms schizophrenic.
My dad and I were worried about my moms behaviour and took her to doctor against her will. She seemed to be more calm than usual. After a two hour long appointment, with a psychiatrist, my mom has been showing signs of schizophrenia.
I couldn't handle it. But my upcoming grief was now demolished after I figured out, that as long as she takes her daily pills, it's all fine.
I still couldn't believe it. No matter how many times I got help from those who're dear to me, the weight on my shoulders didn't budge.I currently stay in the arms of Leo, as we both started to binge watch shows on Netflix in his apartment. He has been really comforting and understanding.
He rubbed my shoulder, making me hum in response.
"You ok?"
"A little better?" I reply, Snuggling closer.
"You know, I'm leaving in a week or so" he muttered, both of us not focused on the screen.
"Yeah I know. I was hoping to introduce you to my parents, but you know-"
"I know" he said, kissing my head. "It's okay" he reassured me.He gently moved my head from his chest and got up, heading to I don't know where.
I continued to stare blankly at the screen, fiddling with the small blanket.
Leo came back with a bottle of wine and two glasses. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused with the sudden act."I know we've been dating for only three weeks but how about an almost-one-month anniversary, hmm?" He said. I let out a small laugh and shook my head.
"I don't drink" I said, stretching as I got up from the couch.
He put the glasses and the bottle down, putting his hands on his hip.
"So drinking is a no""I have an idea!" I said, with my finger in the air.
He titled his head.
"Let's cosplay" I said, shuffling around the apartment, digging through his suitcase.
"Cosplay?"
"Cosplay. You know, dress up like an anime character" I said, messing up the neatly folded clothes.
"Yeah I know what cosplay means. But how'd you know I have.. Them" he said, obviously feeling embarrassed and awkward.I pulled out a few shirts and jackets, and grinned. It's time I've actually done something entertaining.
Thirty minutes later
"Still don't get why I'm wearing a skirt" Leo complained, as he rolled his eyes for the seventieth time. I couldn't help but giggle at how he looked and how movie like this was.
I saw this once on TV so I thought I might try it out as well. And the result is beyond hilarious.I continued to take pictures of him in the thigh high socks and the miniskirt, his hair in a tiny pony tail.
"Why do you have girl clothes anyways?" I ask. "It came with the Naruto Costume" he muttered, looking annoyed, but who cares? This is gold.He went back inside the room and shut the door.
"What happened?!" I said, banging the door. The giggling didn't come to an end but I tried to hold it back a bit.
"I don't get why I agreed to this" I heard him mumble.
"You agreed because you couldn't resist me" I chuckled, as I went through my pictures.
"Yeah, maybe I did" he said, making blush furiously. Well, that was unexpected.I checked the time and noticed it was getting late.
"I gotta go!" I yell as I walked to the door.
Leo came out of his room, wearing his normal clothes again.
He gave me a small peck, making me lose my senses as usual.
"I'll see you next time" he said, hugging me before I stepped out. I waved goodbye and a bucket of realization hit me as I walked to my car.I hated that my happiness so far is only temporary. I have to go back to my mom, to make sure she wouldn't throw herself out of the window or slit her wrists. The prescription drugs didn't help her one bit, it only worsened her case.
I drove back home, with a stream of tears running down my cheeks.

AN: Hi there! Long time no post eh? I honestly didn't know what to write. I wrote like five versions of this chapter and decided this one would do. I honestly think the book has to come to an end anytime soon. I have nothing up my sleeve and her story is practically over but I'll try to extend it by a chapter or two. Thank you, once again, for keeping up with my book so far, i know it's shitty lol. But thanks anyway.Don't hesitate to ask me anything :3
