Here's the end. This is where my story ends. And I had a great time sharing it. Sadly, I'd like to say it wasn't really that much of an experience or anything but let's just be honest, I've changed at some point. My sarcastic, anime loving self has taken a break apparently. I don't have to worry about dying alone anymore, neither does my mom, who is thankfully 90% cured.
I've returned to my habit of staring aimlessly at my ceiling, not bothering to reply to any of my incoming messages.I started to laugh and shake my head. I could hardly think of what to do and Nyla can only just stare at me without me feeling uncomfortable.
"Was it Leo?" She murmured, but I still heard her.
"Was it Leo what"
"Is Leo the reason you took a 360 change?" She said, more bravely this time. I furrowed my eyebrows and sat up."Did I really change, Nyla?" I said, my hands on her shoulders. She nodded her head.
I sighed and pouted. This only makes me feel worse, I liked the way I was, I was ok. I didn't need improvements or anything did I? I was always considerate and generous. Does this mean I'm the opposite now?"Nyla! Do I have, like, a bad personality now or something" I said, slight panic evident in my voice.
"You still didn't answer my question, Lena" she dead panned. I wasn't even sure myself. I did, right? Well, if there's one thing that didn't change about me is my constant paranoia, that's for sure. But, if I were to be honest, yeah I guess. I did change because of Leo.I nodded at her but explained before she was about to say something.
"I may have changed, but for the better. I might not be your freakishly sarcastic and weird Lena but I haven't changed into the worst have I? I mean, Leo is anything but a bad influence. He's just... That little beam of light that pierces through the darkness, one that'll keep giving you hope and encouragement. The past month and half have been hectic and just completely stressful but look at us now, Nyla. I have someone i cherish and you have someone who cherishes you, Me. You're my bestfriend and a sister I've never had" I said, ruffling her already messed up hair. She stared at me, her mouth gaped at me. I awkwardly scratched the back of my head and cleared my throat.
She blinked and shook her head for a few seconds. She broke into a big smile and hugged me. A warm genuine hug that everyone needs every once in a while.
"You... You really are good with words" she said, pulling out of the hug. I grinned and shrugged.
"I guess I am"********
"I'm gonna miss you" Leo said, wrapping his hands around my waist. We stood in front of the door of his apartment. Of course, I, Lena, had never had a boyfriend before and I am most definitely not used to this. I was as red as tomato and the words were stuck in my throat."I-I-... We can leave the goodbyes to the airport" I mumble out, avoiding eye contact. I kept my hands by my side since I don't get they should be anyways.
He lifted my chin, making the-avoid-eye-contact impossible. He had my favourite colour green as the colour of his eyes, and it made me swoon every time I stared into them.He stared at me for a while and chuckled, letting me go. He held onto his suitcase and walked away, shaking his head. I tilted my head, realizing that I should be following him, I ran after him.
-At the airport-
"You'll call me when you get there" I said, both of us standing in front of the security checking. He nodded, brushing random strands behind my ear.
"Are you sure you have everything?" I said, sounding like a worried mother.
"Your phone, your toothbrush, your-" he shut me up with a heart melting kiss, and I quickly gave into it. My hands slowly creeping onto his back as he dipped forward. A few whistles were heard in the background, making us pull apart as soon as possible. We took more time than intended, I guess. The blush on my face didn't budge as he smirked and ruffled my hair.
"I have everything" he said, a loud buzz going through the large area.
"That's my queue" he said, pulling me into a hug before grabbing onto his suitcase.Leo went through and waved at me from afar.
"Don't forget to call!" I yelled, receiving a thumbs up from his retreating body. I felt myself smile, I walked away.On my way to my car, I felt a buzz from my pocket. I pulled out my phone, reading the text. Only to have my heart beating at a rapid speed.
---> I love you.
And I couldn't help but type the returning words, send and love him back.
