i like you dude! - gareth

I woke up right by my bestfriend gareth, his arm was wrapped around my waist and I slowly remove it and get up to go get dressed for the day, since we are on summer break.

I put on black cargo pants with a kiss shirt (the band). I brush out my hair and walk back into my room to see gareth slowly waking up, "goodmorning sleepy head" I said to him "goodmoring y/n" he smiles and gets up.

He gets dressed and wears baggy jeans with a black shirt with his red flannel.
"Soo what do you want to do today?" Gareth asks me "mm maybe go to the arcade?" I ask him "YES, HOLY YES" gareth says overly excited about it, "okay let's go" I say dragging him out of the room while I grap some coins to use to play the arcade games.

Gareth opens the car door for me saying "your chariot awaits my dear" I giggle at him while be bows while I get in the car, he shuts the door and runs over to the driver's side of the car.

He puts on the radio 'for whom the bells troll by metacllica' while he drives to he arcade. I watch as he sings the song and stare at how pretty he looks, I've always had a crush on gareth since 6th grade, we've been bestfriends since pre-k, our parents became friends when I moved to Hawkins and me and gareth have hung out ever since. I think my mom thinks we're gonna get married or something.

"Like what your staring at?" Gareth says while smirking at me, "huh?" I say confused "you're staring at me y/n" gareth says while staring dead at the road, "oh I didn't notice shit sorry" I say shifting to look back at the road infrount of me, gareth laughs a bit and keeps driving while we sit in comfortable silence till we get to the arcade.

Gareth gets out and runs to the other side to open the car door for me, I smile and get out and walk up to the sidewalk infrount of the doors of the arcade. Gareth locks his car and opens the front door for me again, he always has open doors for me even in middle school, such a gentleman right?

We set and play games for a bit over 45 minutes and then decide to go get something to eat, we get back out of the arcade and decide where we wanna go to, to eat. "So where do you wanna eat?" Gareth ask me "uhm what about we pick up snacks to watch a movie at your place? I ask him "mm sure I need gas anyways we can go to the gas station that's a few blocks away if you want", "sure!".

We drive to the gas station, while gareth gets gas put in his car I go in to buy snacks for us to watch a movie, I pick up y/f/s for me and gareths favorite chips and drink, I see a person my age looking at me but I don't think twice about it and go to check out. I walk out and hear someone behind be "Hey!" I hear a man run up behind me and "uh hi?" I ask say to him confused, "uhm I just wanted to say you're kinda cute, do you have a boyfriend by chance?" He ask me "uhm no I don't" I say and I look over to see gareth staring at this guy looking pissed off at the both of us.

"Mm well can I get your number for a date sometime?" The man ask "Oh! Also my name is alex" he follows up his sentence with, "uh sure?" I say with a questioning voice "it's ***-5**-7***"
I tell him. "Awesome see you around hottie" he says with a wink. I make a disturbed face at him and walk back to the car and hand gareth the snacks and drinks I got for us.

"Whats wrong?" I ask confused on why he looks mad at me "it's nothing" he says with a monotone voice not even making eye contact with me. "Gareth are you sure? You seem pissed off" I question him "y/n! For fucks sake it's nothing, if you want I'll tell you later jeez!" He says slightly yelling. I jump a bit at the sudden yell of his and watch the road as we sit in silence for the rest of the ride home.

We get home and he doesn't open any doors for me, 'that's werid' I tell myself confused on why he didn't open the door for me like usual. We go up to his room and I shut the door standing behind gareth.
"GARETH For goodness sake tell me what's wrong dude!" I say mad and annoyed with him. He turns around and says,"You wanna know why I'm mad y/- n? You wanna know why? Is it not obvious on why I'm mad!?" He says turning to look at me mad. "Well isn't it obvious that it's not!" I say..

"DUDE! You were talking to that guy at the gas station! YOU GAVE HIM YOUR NUMBER FOR FUCKS SAKE!" Gareth says yelling his last sentence. "OK?? WHY DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING?!", "BECAUSE Y/N I LIKE YOU! I HAVE FOREVER. DID YOU NEVER NOTICE THAT?!"
"You what...?" I ask questioning him and looking him dead in his eyes, "I like you y/n, I always have. You're literally fucking perfect, everything about you is perfect dude I've liked you since like 2nd grade dude!" Gareth says, I can see that he is nervous and regretting telling me that he Likes me.

"Gareth Emerson, I like you alot to, I have for Like ever. I've always wanted to tell you but you always got girlfriends and i never found the right time" I say resting my head on his chest looking down at the floor.

"Y/n y/l/n?" Gareth says in a questioning voice.. "mh?", "can I kiss you?" He asks I panic and tell him "yes uhmuhm, you can" I rush to say. He lifts up my chin and kisses me gently.

"I've always wanted to do that since Like the 8th grade" gareth says pulling away at the kiss "Yeah me to", "can I do it again?" Gareth asks me "yes definitely"
This time the kiss lasted longer, but we pulled away sadly and I ask "can we watch the movie now?" Questioning him
"Well obviously y/n we can"

We get the snacks out and get situated on the bed and put the movie 'the shinning" into the VHS player, and snuggle into eachother.

Half way into the movie gareth falls alseep on my shoulder, I slowly move him onto the pillow and get up to take the movie out of the VHS player and put it up on his shelf and put the snacks on his nightstand.
I climb into bed with gareth and slowly fall asleep with him.
